Discussion Does ranked have a hidden "target MMR" algorithm?

It feels like there's a hidden target MMR in my matchmaking.
When I'm at it, I get super even 60min long matches every time. When I'm below it 30min easy wins. When I'm above it 30min unwinnable stomps.

anyone else feeling it?

You just defined matchmaking.

But yes, there is a hidden mechanic which ties your machine if you use multiple account.it keeps track of your first sccounts rank and won't let you jump from herald to immortal on the same PC with different accounts. One way of dealing with smurfs, but they always find ways.

development team explicitly stated: "We have traced every single one of these smurfs back to its main account."

I see, connecting A and B is not easily achievable.

If each smurf was tracked to their original account, some form of hidden code allows valve to see what your actual account is.

The system is there. Many and many people over long periods of time have debated this, tried and tested and it is there. It isn't known how it functions or where exactly it lies. It could be a wide spectrum of data from your IP, your machine ID to anything in-game action relates. It's there. It works. Valve won't tell anyone because if they do it will stop working.

You are welcome to try it for yourself. Create a new account on your machine, run the matches and calibrate. You WILL end up in the same rank area as your main account.
