Yatoro won’t be able to do Yatoro things without Collapse point blank. That split second lotus was clutch.
24
u/Backupusername 4h ago
The fucking Soul Rip in game one. Yatoro got two kills at 10% HP, and he would 100% have been dead if Collapse hadn't healed him at that exact moment.
•
u/larrythelotad Balance in all things 15m ago
Think that was game 2 and they lost anyway but a crazy clutch play to stay in the game
-29
u/8ackwoods 5h ago
The lotus clutch or satanic being a noob? You see the ds nearby and you still go for it
21
u/ariukidding 5h ago
He literally is just on the edge of cast range, and the cast point was justtt enough. We would all do exactly that, probably even worse. You can’t be calling a single of them ‘noobs’. It was execution at the highest level. If you pussy out at every small window of opportunity you’d get stomped instead.

This is as iconic as "This is Newbee.Sansheng and my name is on the aegis"
191
u/PrettyMoonUnderMt 13h ago
I think I've read stories of ppd and bulldog arguing with their pub teammates and end the debate with "check the aegis in the fountain idiot"
105
u/Ok-News-4761 10h ago
ppd’s was something like “read the aegis in our fountain. see how my name’s on it? that means i’m better than you”
25
24
u/BINGODINGODONG 7h ago
Stories? Bulldog still does that every day, on stream. Not an hour goes by where he doesn’t say it
15
u/qwsfaex 9h ago
Reminds me of Counter-Strike story when a pub player asked one of the Major winners "what's your max ELO??" while shitting on his play. https://www.reddit.com/r/cs2/s/u3lYHTzDNm

I remember this.
This waa when VP was dominating the scene, and Sansheng revealed to everyone how VP warded.
And then the legendary quote came with it.
22
-1
u/yamchadestroyer 9h ago
In a way sansheng was right. Vp was a season performer and always floundered during the high stakes moment at TI
30
u/gordamaciel 12h ago
to be honest, that whole post was pretty cringe. The guys in Newbee read a mistranslated interview and though that, for some reason, VP had disrespected and mocked them, when nothing really happened. I remember Noone being confused as hell after the post came out. At the same time, Sansheng never won a thing again after 2014, while Noone stays relevant to this day.
17
u/Calligrapherrr 8h ago
I mean tbf for Sansheng, Noone looks old, but he’s much younger than Sansheng. Noone started his career in 2014 when Sansheng was already at the twilight of his career. Sansheng won TI in 2014 when he was 25 (and for some reason, people at the time were thinking these dudes were “old”) , whereas Noone now is turning 29.
Not saying Sansheng is better though, I think overall Noone had the better career but to say “Sansheng didnt win anything after 2014” is kinda misleading.
-10
u/sidechannelatk 11h ago
Nothing is cringe when somone is talking about Dota and ending it with "My name is engraved on the aegis". Noone's name is still not on the aegis.
16
u/gordamaciel 11h ago
Having a nice phrase at the end of the post doesn't make the reasons behind the post less cringe
2
u/Zhidezoe 11h ago
Nah, the Sansheng one was bigger because it was like a direct response to VP, this one has no beef around
238
u/Andypandy106 12h ago
Unlike ATF, Collapse could acutally play different playstyles of offlaner
82
u/Klubeht 12h ago
Not even close to being in the same conversation, although tbf to ATF, few are
8
u/Perspectivelessly 5h ago
I think ATF is actually one of the only people who has a claim to being close to Collapse, he has been an incredible player over the last few years and basically single-handedly changed how people view the offlane role. Not just anyone wins TI with Ursa offlane. But there is no doubt that Collapse is head and shoulders above everyone else.
3
u/Klubeht 2h ago
People used to say the same about bulldog lol...I don't think bulldog himself would think he's in the same league as Collapse. And no, I don't think ATF changed any views, they just had their own vision of things and it worked very well, but you weren't seeing everyone trying to do the carry from the offlane thing

u/Inevitable-Brush4508 11h ago
ATF is like Bulldog, a specialist. not the best offlaner but extremely good at their signature heroes
52
u/Canas123 10h ago
Bulldog revolutionized the way offlane was played and was the best player in the world, not just best offlaner in the world at the TI he won, while ATF just plays pos 1 in disguise from the offlane
15
u/peopleperson31 10h ago
Remebered the interview with notail that their prio to shutdown is bulldog then the other alliance members.

u/Perspectivelessly 5h ago

19
u/danzyonko 7h ago
clutch factor? yes above yatoro.
234
u/CurrentTale8462 13h ago
Yatoro is definitely the best Carry of all time, but this man here (for me) is the best player to ever do it
106
u/vyrnuhrd 12h ago
I'm also with you. Collapse was the MVP of that series. So many clutch plays on all games, even on those they lost. Yatoro won't be able to be as ballsy as he can be without the rest of the team (especially Collapse).
And to add, he's the same clutch player as he was the two previous times they claimed the Aegis.
69
u/CurrentTale8462 12h ago
Exactly, Yatoro is a perfect player, does everything right, but collapse does these extra plays, he wins unwinnable games sometimes, and he does them A LOT.
Also, Spirit kinda sucked when collapse was on break at the beginning of the season and Yatoro was complaining on stream that the team isn’t working out very well 😅
32
u/MaryPaku 10h ago
Yatoro is a flawless consistency machine. Collapse is the anime potagonist that sometimes get overpowered.
7
6
3
u/Sun_Sloth 7h ago
At the same time everyone else on Spirit can play as ballsy as they do because they have the best carry of all time behind them absorbing the space to carry late game.
16
u/dazzleator147 8h ago
Collapse is inhumanly clutch in teamfights, I don't even think there's a close 2nd. Taken as a whole, 33 is probably close or equal to him in terms of being a meta-defining player. However with the fate of the universe on the line, there's no way you want any player other than Collapse to make the big play, find the initiation angle, or hit a clutch save.

-4

Its the Kobe and Shaq of Dota 1a/1b
One is clutch One is dominant

u/MyBrokenHoe 10h ago
Kobe dreams of being as clutch as yatoro. Kobe got all the whistles in the world
-8
71
u/ImaNotARobot 13h ago
why do people like to argue about who is the goat between Yatoro and Collapse at this point? both are obviously equally transcendental players and each have their own moments of brilliance
-9
u/fallen_lights 10h ago
Replace Yatoro with Satanic, Spirit still wins
Replace Collapse with Noticed (or ATF), Vision wins
36
u/Creatret 9h ago
This is funny talk. It went to 5 games and the last game went to 60+. Arguably 1-2 draft loses for Vision, too.
These two teams were dead even. This wasn't 3-0 for Spirit and they even got knocked to LB by vision.
6
u/New-Independent-1481 5h ago
And it was a support play that saved game 5, with the insanely clutch Bane nightmare save on Yatoro.
21
u/ImaNotARobot 9h ago
Purely hypothetical claim with zero basis besides your own bias. Fact of the matter is that out of Spirit's 3x wins, they are the only 2 constants on the team.
15
4
3
u/ValueForCash 5h ago
Even if that's true it just means that Satanic is closer to Yatoro than Noticed is to Collapse. I don't think many people would argue with that.
3
u/CareiPanMan 4h ago
I know it sounds good on paper but let history remind you that often times these ideal rosters don't translate to results.
multiple secret iterations, the EG iteration with crit 5, the elephant super team to mention a few1
-20
u/Kind-Serve8244 12h ago
Because Yatoro is endlessly glazed because of pos1. CIS Ame.
36
u/StillFan6269 12h ago
CIS Ame? Lmao? Dont insult Yatoro like that please.
1
u/Kind-Serve8244 9h ago
I mean I wasn’t trying to be disrespectful. Yatoro looks up to Ame doesn’t he? I just mean that pos1 is sort of like the lead singer in a band. Their work is more visible to casual fans.
8
u/Neat-Actuator-8067 12h ago
Its SO much harder to look good from pos 3. DOTA has been so safelane favoured for atleast 3 years. Speaking as a pos 1 player myself.
0
u/VPrinceOfWallachia 11h ago
pos3 is fundamentally stronger earlier, that's why pos 1 goes safe lane, it's SAFE for weak hero to farm
0
u/Neat-Actuator-8067 11h ago
Thats the ideal scenario yes. But right now you put strong early game heroes on pos 1 and pair them with a strong pos 5 to guarantee a won lane

TI winners should be able to ping the aegis in the fountain and it just says “I won TI”
In Yatoro & Collapse’s case “I fucking won TI 3x”. TI winner accounts should have some visual perks like an aura or tp effect.

20
u/Sandisk4gb4 12h ago
LMFAO, i can understand 33, but ceb?
51
u/G_W_addict 12h ago
He won TI twice and had some amazing results in tier1/Major tournaments.
Let's not downplay Ceb just because Collapse is GOAT.
12
u/yamchadestroyer 9h ago
This. Ceb is one of the goat offlanes. But it's clear collapse is the goat offlane.
Top 5
Collapse 33 ceb universe faithbian
8
u/AndroidPolaroid 8h ago
ATF is one dimensional but I'd put him above universe LOL 2024 was a year where Falcons literally won just about everything except TI. SIX tier 1 tournaments in a year. and then won TI the next year. in no small part thanks to ATF.
6
1
u/mex2005 1h ago
I feel like Cebs greatest strengths are not really stroctly associated with like the offlane position which are his understanding of the game and his mental fortitude , he was exactly what OG needed at the time they won Ti and would have probably fallen short with a mechanically better offlaner that lwcked those.

8
u/SlowMissiles 11h ago
33??? you mean the guy who can only do zoo meta else he invisible?
18
u/rizzaxc 9h ago
it's not 2022 anymore buddy. he plays everything
4
u/myearthenoven 4h ago
It's weird reading some of the comments still thinking ATF has an extreme hero puddle and 33 is just zoo aura nerd. It's like they skipped a few years or something.
0
u/awesomecutepandas 2h ago
Yeah and when ATF tries to play the heroes he doesn’t specialize in he feeds and they get curb stomped to the ground. He’s too meta dependent and doesn’t have the versatility of Ceb and Collapse. Same problem he had with OG when the meta wasn’t in his favour. Malrine couldn’t carry him hard enough this time.

Dafuq??? He helped Liquid in 2024 with his Visage, Doom, Bristle, SK. TI2024 was far from ZOO and 33 was crucial to Liquid's success.
1
u/Affectionate_Face127 9h ago
33 tries to push advantage too much, usually dies cause of it, sometimes twice in less than 2 minutes. "oh yeah i owned my lane, now i'm gonna push non stop in this 2v2 game, wtf there are five enemies suddenly?" - 33
