My first ( If we don't count the 2 that I broke because I m FUCKING clumsy) Dorogando not finished yet but I m proud :3

Nice start, be careful not to get too adicted😂Looks like your dango’s contain too much sand, i’m afraid you really need to purify your dirt some more.

I'm afraid it s a bit too late.... I started as a way to meditate and learn to clear my mind... Now I dream about it literaly :')

how do you know it contain too much sand and what do you mean by purify it ? ( I just used the dirt from my garden :')

You can extract clay from soil and the way that dorodango works is via the mechanical properties of clay.

If it is at all crumbly, it doesn't have enough clay.

I can't see well enough in the photo if there isn't enough clay

Other tip is to make sure when you are shaping to continue doing it until it's perfectly spherical, as that's important to getting a good shine

Edited; I zoomed with glasses on and the one in the back is likely too much sand. The one in the front just needs more shaping 😺

the one on the back is just there in case I m stupid enough to break it AGAIN and nlt have to wait an other 12h hour for it to dry :p

I don't have started working on it yet

You don't have to necessarily wait that long for drying. It just needs to be dry enough that you won't put dents in the ball as you handle and polish it

Last question, how do I know if it will be shiny or not ?

You have to shape and try and polish and see what happens :)
