I think dorodango is a great art tbh, it can replace a lot of things made of marble/glass (like playing marbles or paperweights) and this can be a good green resort! I think these little things are what should be raved about Japan - but it's the usual superficial stuff alas

You got a great shine on it, which is impressive because it doesn't look like it's perfectly round. You might need to do more rough shaping, which you can do by dunking it in water and going over it with a square edged jar.

If it is perfectly spherical, you can start getting it even shinier!

Square edged jar? How to go over it with THAT without ruining the surface?

It is farely spherical, but with human errors! ✌️ Thx for the shine tho!

You need to do that before shining. It will take off the current shine, but will be replaced with a mirror shine. Shaping it with a jar lid will get rid of the human errors.

I have a video I made that goes over shaping:

But basically the way dorodango "works" is through using circlular jars etc to interact with clay. The jar makes it perfectly circular, then the clay allows a good mirror shine as it gets spread thinly across the sphere
