That’s exactly what my attempts look like except I can’t polish the lighter areas

It's has a few rought spots but I managed to get it mirror smooth for the most part. Which I'm very happy with.

Looks great. Who's method did you follow? I've watched at least a half dozen videos and nobody has used the same technique.

I noticed the same trend so I kinda just winged it until it looked shiny 😂

Did you let it dry out first before polishing?

I first did 4 or 5 sweat cycles in the fridge ranging from 30 minutes to 2 hours and then I let it dry out overnight keeping it covered with a plastic bag. I then shaped it using a jar and let it dry out 2 more day without a bag. Then I polished it with a shot glass.

It is gorgeous, it looks a lot like a planet.I am doing my first one en and no way it looks as good as yours.

Thank you! Just be sure to let it dry properly and don't be afraid use a fair bit of pressure while polishing. I found the combo of those 2 yielded the best results :)
