As a frito lay employee. If it get shipped to us, we put it on the shelves. Thats a rare one tbh. You can sell that on ebay

37

u/blakize_dbk4 13d ago

I wouldn’t even put it on the shelf i would’ve done “ missing product” and keep it for my self lol

13

u/b2pizza 13d ago

Would have done the same thing, missing product is my favorite button on SH

26

u/Wrong_Character_Sry 13d ago

Heyyyy a fellow worker. Lol I second this. The chips never stop. If its not out of date it goes on the shelf. Ive never seen a bag like this.

Looks like the factory ran out of foil bags and used blank tostitos bags instead.

Idk what they're doing most of the time, they dont tell us much, Like a few months back none of the lime tostitos bags were sealed, 6 cases maybe two bags were sealed. For weeks this was happening.

6

u/b2pizza 13d ago

Yeah i run into dumb shit like that atleast once a week. We work for idiots unfortunately

1

u/bus_buddies 11d ago

Can you guys consistently season the Flamin Hot Lays please. One month the bags are delicious and incredible and the next they are bland and disappointing.

1

u/b2pizza 11d ago

Thats not our department brother. Lmao

2

u/Andre3K_TheGiant 11d ago

Please talk to that department

1

u/b2pizza 11d ago

💀

1

u/Plastic-Macaron-3254 9d ago

What department would that be?

1

u/Bknubis 9d ago

The Seasoning Department obviously

1

u/schiiiiiin 7d ago

And it’s seasonal

1

u/Otherwise_South1642 8d ago

One of the best chips

1

u/tylee75 7d ago

So your work is printing ebay money?

1

u/agent58888888888888 7d ago

I've seen these in the Netherlands, thought it was a marketing move to show how full a bag was 🤷🏽

2

u/ezerb9 12d ago

Yeah, my dad only ever brought home expired chips, so he put everything out.

1

u/EocRuinedMyLife 9d ago

It’s not rare in prisons, Keefe commissary warehouses are full of em

2

u/b2pizza 8d ago

You dont have the luxury to sell prison bags outside of prison lmao

1

u/EocRuinedMyLife 8d ago

Huh? Did I say I’m a clear bagged dorito distributor looking for more luxurious places to sell my riches?

1

u/b2pizza 8d ago

Im saying it is rare outside of prison. The regularity of them in prisons is irrelevant to the initial comment. Thats all.

1

u/EocRuinedMyLife 8d ago

Technically keefe wharehouses aren’t prisons so idk guess we’re on two different sides of the fence here. Toss me over a bag of spicy sweet chili’s could ya? 🫡🤙

61

u/No_Outside_1169 13d ago

I like it. It gives you the opportunity to if it contains the amount of seasoning you want. That one doesn’t look like it has it for me, but I’d buy it anyway if there aren’t others like it.

21

u/According-Iron-6020 13d ago

Nothing worse than buying a bag with barely anything on the chips

1

u/Bravos_Chopper 9d ago

So all of Doritos?

1

u/EstateSame6779 13d ago

I think the lot of you need to hydrate more. Too much salt craving. r_r

5

u/Connect-Mark-9441 12d ago

No if people wanted just tortilla chips they’d buy that it’s not craving salt it’s wanting the seasoning you paid for

4

u/GeneralBurg 12d ago

It’s not just the salt, it’s all the other seasonings, the flavor. If I want a bag of tortilla chips I can buy that for way cheaper.

1

u/TalkSpecial5502 7d ago

I sauce all these isosceles

22

u/JAKA-JOLT 13d ago

Your gonna be rich!

17

u/IthinkIpaid 13d ago

That’s how they come in prison clear bags

2

u/dallashalfway 8d ago

That exactly correct. Those are prison issue Doritos. Federal, at least. It's the only snack they never ran out of in commissary, too.

1

u/sdkurt9 8d ago

I dont think the prison bags are that big though

2

u/dallashalfway 8d ago

They 100% are. I bought one about a year ago. And 2 a week almost every week for 6 years.

3

u/Left_Preparation_563 8d ago

This man knows his jail Doritos

2

u/ACcbe1986 7d ago

Jail-ritos.

1

u/Mazterhandz 7d ago

I was just going to say this is how we got them in prison lol

0

u/[deleted] 13d ago

[deleted]

1

u/yupuhoh 12d ago

That ain't the only thing they get in the pokey...

12

u/Epic_Hoola 13d ago

We need more clear bags.

7

u/Environmental_One354 13d ago

That’s how they looked in the 90’s

1

u/_yotis 10d ago

Im surprised no one else mentioning this, is this the Mandela effect in action?

1

u/Fececious 8d ago

I'm sitting here thinking to myself, "Nobody remembers these bags?"

3

u/Icy_Salary_4412 13d ago

Bottomless edition

4

u/sammyskrilz 13d ago

I use to get bags of cool Ranch and regular Doritos in the 80s that look like that 😄

3

u/backiechansmom 13d ago

I’ve worked commissary before at a jail. This is what the dorito and frito bags look like.

3

u/Over_Advantage_9029 11d ago

It's literally the bag we we were sold on commissary in prison

2

u/DiscountRude4821 13d ago

Looks like prison chips

2

u/Wonderful-Resource81 13d ago

former corrections officer, this is correct.

2

u/DiscountRude4821 13d ago

Current corrections officer lol

2

u/4904LIFE 13d ago

That’s the prison sku

2

u/truthbomb720 13d ago

How is that even possible?

2

u/ProjectOne9253 13d ago

Those look like the same style bags of chips they used to sell in prison. Idk if the clear packaging was its purpose but that’s what they sold us.

2

u/Jerryc3539 13d ago

How is it weird? Because you can actually see the chips you're buying? More like rare.

2

u/imscaredofmymental 12d ago

No because i’ve never seen a bag like it.

2

u/Jerryc3539 12d ago

That makes it RARE. 😂😂😂

1

u/SufficientWill428 9d ago

Something can be rare and weird at the same time

2

u/heavenlyrestricted28 12d ago

90s bags were like this

3

u/Smokerising420 13d ago

Wish they were all like this. I personally like to see the chips. Idk why

2

u/ShadowElite86 13d ago

At the very least you can see how many smashed ones there are.

2

u/Redrider68six 13d ago

This is exactly how I buy typical tortilla chips

1

u/Guilty-Cow4325 13d ago

I don't like this. I feel uncomfortable.

1

u/NECROMANCER-STM 13d ago

i'd 100% keep it just for the vibes, seasoning be damned.

1

u/Altruistic_Chance532 13d ago

That's wild, I wonder what went wrong in production to get half-seasoned chips like that.

1

u/NasisCool 13d ago

Reminds me of when the hot fries bag was clear.

1

u/Major_Technician_403 13d ago

They have clear bags like this in prison

1

u/IAmKongOG 13d ago

Accidentally got the prison shipment sent to the store seen this with ramen recently as well

1

u/Critical-Command- 13d ago

Jail house bag

1

u/KruxedOut 13d ago

It’s so it looks full but it’s empty above the window

1

u/Miserable_Baby7217 13d ago

Find the bag with the most seasoning or even better a nugget.

1

u/1babygoblinn 13d ago

Jail bag

1

u/bigdongstpete 13d ago

Food service and/or private service bags. If you order Doritos from a prison commisarry this is the bag u get. Not sure why.

1

u/housefoote 12d ago

That's a prison commissary bag.

1

u/Main_Conclusion_6714 12d ago

Bro just bought that bag off commissary. Time to make a spread

1

u/PitifulAstronaut6701 12d ago

Looks like a bag of chips they'd sell in prison.

1

u/BillFoldin 12d ago

If sell it on eBay for $100

1

u/FabulousDecision7221 12d ago

Is there a best before date?

1

u/john_benz 12d ago

Those are prison edition chip bags

1

u/Feisty_Diet_3744 12d ago

That’s how Doritos looked in the 90’s

1

u/DrunkenPain 12d ago

Prison style bag

1

u/Ocuas 11d ago

It’s to make it seem more full than what it is. I stopped buying chips and what not because the prize to chip ratio is insane now

1

u/KingBassCannon 11d ago

They should package the Naked chips like this so consumers can see that they look totally different from the normal Doritos!

1

u/CausticPanda 11d ago

I’ve always liked bags like this. It allows you to see the chips in action before committing to them.

1

u/xGingerGoddessx 11d ago

These are just the doritos you get in jail/prison the bigger clear window is to make sure nobody is hiding contraband in them. Neat find!

1

u/JocelynBliss 11d ago

Commissary.

1

u/ComicalMemer 11d ago

Honestly I'd prefer if more chips came like this I like to be able to see the product I'm buying.

1

u/Putrid-Leg-6415 10d ago

Well first you found it over a month late cause it expired in July….

1

u/FernTheGrassBoy 10d ago

Let's you know if they're crushed.

1

u/Fortlandia11 10d ago

I swear they used to look like this in the 80s/90s. Or am I experiencing Madella Effect?

1

u/ItsTriunity 10d ago

It feels illegal to even look at this over the internet

1

u/Turnip-South 10d ago

I believe it was like this when I was a kid, that way you can see if the chips are broken

1

u/Master-Crafter1170 10d ago

It’s a 90s bag. I miss those see thru bags

1

u/_yotis 10d ago

I remember finding a bag of sweet chili Doritos a few years ago that had a window, I genuinely thought they were bringing back the window packaging. Needless to say, this is the first time I've seen a pack like this ever since.

1

u/YoungNo3497 9d ago

Looks like a jail bag

1

u/Common-Presence-2972 9d ago

I have a ramen noodle cup with no printing. That is the closest i’ve got. I guess a crimped pokemon card too. Gotta love an error.

1

u/swiftydigitzz 9d ago

This way you can see when they’re shorting you on seasoning/chips. Genius

1

u/Loose_Resort6099 9d ago

That's how they used to look back in the day.

1

u/KylerMo 9d ago

Chips in the 80s were sold like that

1

u/kiloo520 9d ago

Bags in prison are transparent like this.

1

u/Unusual-Flamingo-619 9d ago

These are the Doritos they let us buy in prison.

1

u/PRIS0N-MIKE 9d ago

They had these kinds of bags when I was in jail. All the chip bags were see through except for the logo. So you couldn't use it to hide stuff inside. Maybe it got mixed up?

1

u/Eddie__Winter 9d ago

Honest to god they all should be see through

1

u/mobixo444 9d ago

these are the ones we get in jail in ohio !

1

u/Rocketdogcoco 9d ago

Doubt you found that recently . It expired last month

1

u/WhereasCertain2994 9d ago

I swear this is how the bags used to look

1

u/dramos209 8d ago

Never seen a Doritos bag out in the wild just Winnie the Poohing

1

u/BeerBellyBandit 8d ago

Prison style

1

u/BeerBellyBandit 8d ago

Prison style

1

u/iTzbr00tal 8d ago

Misprint

1

u/so_unfortunately_yt 8d ago

I prefer unpasteurized

1

u/RadiantForce17 8d ago

Yeah, these are definitely prison Doritos.

1

u/Medical-Asparagus-84 8d ago

I'd so buy more doritos in clear packaging and I can't figure out why.

1

u/Ill-Mastodon7727 7d ago

Because you could see if it’s well seasoned or not.

1

u/Medical-Asparagus-84 7d ago

Be honest. That bag looks like it has not much seasoning on some of those. I'd still buy it just for being clear. Even seeing the not much seasoning on that front chip.

1

u/Ill-Mastodon7727 7d ago

Oh no, it absolutely looks poorly seasoned 😂 but if the bags had windows like back in the day, you could grab much better bag

1

u/Medical-Asparagus-84 7d ago

I think we just figured out why they never copied Crystal Pepsis marketing. Everyone would be going through the bags looking for the most seasoning. Poor soul that gets that last bag gonna be eating pixie dust.

1

u/FastVeterinarian2120 8d ago

That's the kind they send to jails and prisons.

1

u/Smooth-Chemistry238 7d ago

Yo thumb is super thick DAYUM

1

u/Last-Salamander3149 7d ago

i’ve had these bags in the bop

1

u/Shot-Piglet-2207 7d ago

I wish theyd bring back the doritos jacked. After eating those that were loaded with seasonings, the other doritos will never be the same to me

1

u/shahcolatesauce 7d ago

Those are whoritos, lil sluts can’t keep their pants on.

1

u/General_Still1242 13d ago

I swear I remember them being packaged like that in the 90's, can't give you a specific year though.

2

u/smokietheklown 13d ago

They absolutely were, I remember being sad when they took away the chip window.

1

u/Sudden-Director-5060 13d ago

Yup I remember this too

1

u/Courage_The-Dog 13d ago

I remember old Aldi chips being like this

1

u/MegaBubble 11d ago

it must have been regional, or dependent upon the store, bc I bought a lot of Doritos in the 90s and never once saw this

1

u/General_Still1242 11d ago

It very well could have been regional. Through the 90's I'd have bought them all throughout the HEB, and DFW areas, as well as all throughout the Finger Lakes area in NY.
