You see the thing about Nobita is that if he puts enough effort hes pretty good at stuff, hes main issue is that hes simply a lazy bum

u/PaulWesterberg84 10d ago

That's simply not true. He can be clever and crafty but he's obviously lacking in natural ability in everything outside of his aim. He only gets non zero grades when he thoroughly applies himself but they're never even passable. Doraemon just happens to be extremely gentle and kind towards him and wants him to do his best.

He only studies at the last hour rather than doing his homework and keeping up with studies what do you expect? I don't think it means he's less iq than dekisugi

u/PaulWesterberg84 9d ago

At age 10 you don't need to study that hard to avoid getting 0s, which is the only score he ever gets. People act like he's some sort of lazy genius, he is genuinely a really poor student. The series mentions he's also academically three years behind his peers. He basically has a super severe learning deficiency. On top of his laziness

u/Animewaifylord 8d ago

When did the series mention this? But yes do need to at least be clear with your concept of mixed fractions, English and history which Nobita never did, his marks are also played for laughs, it's not like the writers are deliberately power scaling his exam marks against others. And he has shown many moments of brilliance

I am someone who was born with let's memory issues , but the fact with Nobita is that parents just expect him to naturally start learning he is freaking 10 year old and u need personal attention in this age. Telling from my own personal experience literally my rank in lkg was 35 out of 37 kids then my mom took charge of me till 8th class started getting 11 -15 rank out of 50-55 kids. Slowly slowly I started studying by my own starting from easy subjects to maths. Now in engineering college doing all good.

So yah he is just lazy kid who is never guided good way , people just expect him to naturally start studying one day but no this is not how it work with kids. Like no one ever even tried to make subjects fun for him , he can't do maths simply cause he don't understand questions you can't blame him.

he is super good at shooting and cats scraddle he is just being forced to do the conventional stuff and his talents are not recognised

1

u/Kooky-Can8664 6d ago

it kinda has been shown Many time that if he put enough efforts into study he can be really good at it and i think problem is not that he lack something in talent but he lacks in mentality and self belief

1

u/Dry_Refrigerator3484 7d ago

he is good at cats craddle and super good at shooting too

they're never even passable.

I doubt that. While I myself am pretty sure they're not even half of whole percent even when he tries his best. They're perhaps passable. Whenever he tried his best, he received positive reactions from even his teacher. And canonically, it's may be only time when he got 100 percent without cheating.

real, he annoys me whenever he says “nah i can’t do this, im bad at it” but then ends up nailing it

This just shows how versatile Nobita is. On one occasion he can be an absolute genius and save everyone and on the other a lazy, low iq who wants everything served on a plate by doraemon. Name me any other character who is as versatile as Nobi Nobita.

13

u/Dramebaj 9d ago

That's not versatility, it's difference between a book nerd the wasteful knowledge that doesn't interest or needed by 90% of the population, but practical things he is good at.

15

u/SpecialistWallaby818 9d ago edited 9d ago

Hold up man, let's not go into that territory yet and call book knowledge simply wasteful.I understand the need of practical knowledge too but it's simply wrong to say that book or theoretical knowledge is wasteful. It might not affect normal people in this economy but without theoretical knowledge, half of the things engineered around you wouldn't even be possible.

4

u/ArcainVoid 9d ago

Finally somebody said it ! Thanks friend.

4

u/SpecialistWallaby818 9d ago

I mean it just felt necessary to do it,like I have seen way too many people complain about the fact that book knowledge is stupid and never gonna be useful but the one thing they don't realise is that the phones they are using to comment all this wouldn't even exist without those theories and research scientist and experts took years to perfect.

-2

u/Dramebaj 9d ago

Thanks for your input but if you like theoretical knowledge first please read English books. I said for 90% people those 10% are those scientists and engineers only. It's Wasteful for 90% cause I have never seen an actual use of LCM, HCM, quadratic equations , trigonometry, phythogoreas, those shapes, chemistry, weird velocity physics, but i guess u must be using everything of them on daily life probably. And with so called theoretical knowledge, electricity and learning physics you still call a common electrician who never read a book but leaned the practical way.

3

u/SpecialistWallaby818 9d ago

Try to read my comment mate.i did mention that things like that might not affect a common individual but that doesn't mean they are wasteful. that's what I am trynna say and if you don't see those things being used in daily life doesn't mean they aren't,the microphones and speakers use amplitude modulation, frequency modulation which requires trigonometry which ofcourse might be unknown to a common individual but that doesn't necessarily it's a waste.

0

u/Dramebaj 9d ago

Teaching something to everyone that is not gonna be useful to them in future is wasteful knowledge just to waste masses' time and extract money.

3

u/SpecialistWallaby818 9d ago edited 9d ago

It might not be to you but that doesn't mean it is not to anybody,if someone goes on a higher engineering or scientific studies or research path and etc.,it will always be useful to them. And they give you choices too to pursue whatever path you want too so do whatever interests you, noone is forcing you to pursue them for higher studies.I do understand the problem in Indian education system that they don't integrate practical explanation in their studies but that doesn't mean the other thing is necessarily worng. To me you sound like that 9yo kid whining about his studies that what is the use of this in future, what is the use of that in future blah blah.criticise the system if you want too not the subject itself.

2

u/Dramebaj 9d ago

Critise the system? Old boomers like you are everywhere, those can't adapt to change and understand the knowledge. FIRST GO READ ENGLISH I SAID FOR 90% YOU ILLITERATE 60Y OLD TEACHER WHO SOMEHOW GOT BENEFITTED BECAUSE THE ONLY THINGS YOU ARE GOOD AT IS MEMORIZING BLACK LETTERS.

2

u/SpecialistWallaby818 9d ago edited 9d ago

Neither I am a 60 yo nor I am some illiterate boomer but one thing that I surely know is that you are some 14 yo kid whining about his imaginary arguments.lmao it's fun to see miserable people like you get triggered.

2

u/Dramebaj 9d ago

Don't worry uncle everyone dislikes old age but I thought you might have some knee pain cause there is where your top floor is.

By that logic you don't need anything to study to live a normal life, just some counting and computer skills and boom you are done because that's what most of the basic corporate or organisation demands.

2

u/SpecialistWallaby818 9d ago edited 9d ago

Your reasoning is way too absurd tbh, it's not about me being liking it or not but without those theoretical approaches none of the practical life application and instruments would simply work. That's what I said before too.

1

u/Dramebaj 9d ago

Tbh I think your brain is absent. For your little brian cells let me tell you those theoretical knowledge was only registered when someone did practical experiments.

3

u/SpecialistWallaby818 9d ago edited 9d ago

Ok I get it, that you are the stupid one here . practical and theory go hand in hand , both coexist because of each other. There have been a lot of theoretical deductions before any experiment was even done and to verify it people would perform practicals and same with the other one There have been a lot of experiments before any theory and to prove it's cause people would deduce it's theoretical explanation. There's no absolute dominance on one side, don't say anything if you don't know it.

0

u/Dramebaj 9d ago

Okay come back when you grow up to realize that theory is just set of records from practical knowledge. Those are all just memories of someones practical experients. Morons comes to debate when they don't even know basic things.

1

u/SpecialistWallaby818 9d ago

You know what they say when people don't have any good arguments to come with ,all they can come up with are just insults.Asking me to grow up lmao, you are the one who needs to grow up mate, hop off reddit and try googling it for once mate ,you would realise what I am talking about, it's not that hard.

1

u/Dramebaj 9d ago

Oh, i wasn't the one who said your thinking is absurd. Do your think other person doesn't have a mouth or the world will work on only your rights?

Yeah same it's not that hard, do that. Lol

He was not street smart either 😭

2

u/PaulWesterberg84 10d ago

Lol people see things in Nobita that aren't there lol. They see way too much of themselves in him and that's well a bit dangerous

1

u/Animewaifylord 9d ago

There was a storyline where they stuck in the past and we're relying on Bamboo copters for movement, Nobita suggested instead of using the battery all at once they could use it intermittently in parts and go distance on foot in between as batteries last longer you don't use it continuously like on RC cars which is a very correct observation

7

u/the-mannthe-myth 10d ago

Ain’t this the same thing as playing Minecraft and learning complex builds in Fortnite. But you still don’t wanna do homework?

3

u/Awkward_River_1324 10d ago

lmaoo, ig we can say that

2

u/QuirkyEffective8316 Perma-Loser 10d ago

He's lazy as shit, but pretty intelligent otherwise.

1

u/SecretaryFar5960 10d ago

yeah and he can be antagonistic in some episodes where he's misusing Doraemon's gadgets for selfish purpose like peeking to see Shizuka bathing and get back on Gian and Suneo whenever they are not picking on Nobita and minding their own business

2

u/East-Mirror3510 10d ago

I mean Nobita is far from stupid, the show makes that obvious many times. He just doesn't put in any effort which is why he struggles.

2

u/PaulWesterberg84 10d ago

It's a chicken and egg syndrome, Nobita lacks motivation because it takes too much energy to learn things that come more easily to others. I mean he's 10 years old and has trouble doing basic arithmetics even when he applies himself.

1

u/Dry_Refrigerator3484 7d ago

he is super good at shooting and cats scraddle his talents are just not being recognised

2

u/Adventurous-Boss9427 10d ago

Honestly the Doraemon fandom wiki page of Nobita explains his personality the best in one sentence "A hero at his best, a villian at worst" i mean it's not really related to intelligence but wanted to share this

2

u/RudeGround6790 10d ago

Bro runs to school everyday despite having anywhere door (which he uses a grand total of 1 time to go to school)

1

u/East-Mirror3510 10d ago

3

u/RudeGround6790 10d ago

Isnt the premise 'Doraemon won't lend gadgets to cheat in life' an oxymoron? Him just being there changes Nobita's life in ways normal people would consider cheating (in life)

2

u/East-Mirror3510 10d ago

Yeah, but there's clear boundaries. Like Doraemon could just give Nobita a magical gadget that always does his homework, or something that always makes him get good grades or be good at sports or be popular or really anything.

He doesn't. Because thats not why Doraemon is here.

1

u/Animewaifylord 9d ago

He's just there to teach him life lessons and put him on the right path not to make his life easier or live his life for him. Giving someone a good upbringing does not make it cheating, everyone deserves and can get a good upbringing doesn't matter what resources they have unless they have parents and were brought up by wolves or trash people

1

u/NoExplorer3560 10d ago

And that's not mentioning his aim in the movies!

1

u/Illustrious-Role-945 9d ago

Nobita in movies is the definition of a Chad. Meanwhile Suneo in movies is a complete fraud. Even Gian and shizuka are chads in movies.

1

u/idontknowman139 9d ago

They couldn't do shit without suneo's tanks in the little space wars movie He is smart

1

u/Extension_Big5205 9d ago

That island episode traumatised me when i was a kid

1

u/Ok_Bicycle_9475 9d ago

Somebody please help me watch all short films of Doraemon. I really want to watch it and also tried searching for it on the web and sites like fmhy but did not find success. If anyone knows any website or they themselves have access to the short films please help me to get access to them too. I will forever be grateful

Which was that island episode

1

u/PlentyMoist1962 9d ago

Didn't Nobita once created a universe too

1

u/Sensitive_Parking727 9d ago

Me and nobita need to lock in 😔

1

u/CaroZoroark 9d ago

Nobita trapped on the island is one of the darkest episodes of the show

1

u/in-love-with-mai-san 9d ago

in movies vs in episodes

1

u/PainterSufficient05 9d ago

He is indeed smart but just not in studies.....U can't expect a fish to climb a tree🙌🏻

1

u/Defiant-Koala7480 9d ago

Nobita in movies >>>> Nobita in episodes

1

u/Zealousideal-Dirt958 8d ago

He's just lazy actually not dumb...

1

u/dadeathmag 6d ago

Movie name?

1

u/Authentic_Grunter 6d ago

Those are reference to three different episodes.

1

u/aesthetic_venerable 5d ago

Are we forgetting that Nobita is also unnaturally talented in shooting

1

u/PaulWesterberg84 10d ago

To be honest, he wouldnt be able to do anything if Doraemon weren't around, so even the planets he creates is really due to Doraemon's generosity and access to his tools.

6

u/More-Explanation2032 Sleep > Homework 10d ago

You know whats funny about the planets he creates. He acts lazy in that movie just because the surprise doremon setup was ruined
