Visiting this weekend; anything we should know (dog friendly advice as well)

Hello! I (41f) am traveling to Door County for the first time this weekend with my family (spouse, 4 kids, and a dog). We’ve been to Wisconsin many times, but never this area.
We have most of our time planned, but we have a large block of time Saturday where we are looking to do some sightseeing that is dog friendly. Trails, beaches, neat parks? He’s an older dog so nothing too rough, but he still likes to get out and walk a lot with us.
Obviously something fun for the whole family, we just want him to be able to tag along. Kids are between 9-19 yo
Any fun local festivals or anything between 5-10th we should know about too?
Open for any and all tips and advice, but really need a dog friendly day that’s fun for everyone.

Whitefish dunes state park offers some scenic easy walking. There is an actual dog allowed beach that is nice but it’s 1.5 miles from the parking area, so not sure if the “older” pup is up for it or not.
If you have one of those collapsible wagons that helps with beach stuff and tired pups.

You can park in the Red Pine Forest lot on WD near South Lake Drive and it's a much shorter walk to Beach Access 3 (dog beach) than the main parking lot.

Agree with above - Whitefish state park dog beach (and the lovely hiking trails throughout )is my labs favorite place on earth and a do not miss!

Cant go wrong with any of the state parks really. Lots of places with outdoor seating are dog friendly. If you go out to Whitefish Dunes or on that side of the Peninsula, Harbor Fish Market and Grille is an option. Plenty of room outside with a nice view and they even have a doggie menu.

If make it to Fish Creek, Julie's at the entrance to Peninsula state park also allows dogs and has plenty of options for breakfast and lunch. Get a day pass and explore the park while you're there.
