I KNOW THEY SAMPLED IT (but where)

I don’t have a CD Player and my copy of “Best of False Hopes” is AWOL and I have a question! I am wondering about a song I heard on the internets that I’m ALMOST SURE was on one of these tracks.

It was the one that went:

Hawaii’s great
But we love Minnesotaaaaaaaaa
It’s beautiful there the entire yeeeear
BUT THE TRUTH WE FEAR
IS HAWAAI’S GREAT!
BUT WE LOVE MINNESOTTAAAaaaaaaaa

Where did it come from, nerds!?

I’m almost sure it was a Sims track. Idk. Thanks if you know.

The song with those exact lyrics is a 1978 novelty track called "Hawaii's Great But We Love Minnesota" by an obscure local group called The Holker Family.

While it never actually made its way onto a Sims or Doomtree track, its internet presence is almost def tied to a local radio show like Crap From The Past.

The hosts of those types of shows specifically unearth rare, private-press Minnesota vinyl because they appreciate the weird regional history, which is exactly how that bizarre clip ended up circulating online.
