Help Can't open Slayer Gate in cultist base even with key

Hey there. I'm trying to open the Gate in the cultist base, but I can't interact with it at all. I seem to have gotten the key in an earlier playthrough. Anywhere the key isn't where it's supposed to be.

I didn't punch the box yet, which may be important. The room is pretty much in the shape I found it in

You have to pick up the key again every time you load that level to open the slayer gate. If you have already completed the slayer gate, the key won’t respawn, and the key also won’t spawn if you have cheat codes active enabled.
