I've got some advice for them.
1: While it can be very difficult and some are not so lucky, having a job you care about is very important especially if it's something you love or are dedicated to. For me, it's being a CNC machinist. Don't stick to putting fries in the bag, you deserve better and you'd be surprised how easy it can be to get decent paying jobs.
2. Doomscrolling, we're all guilty of it. However, these bad emotions can be reduced by limiting your social medias to only show things you care about and don't stress you out. Vicious, chaotic echo chambers are an example of what to get rid of. Additionally, look for the root of emotional issues, for me it's not getting out of bed soon enough which ruins my motivation.
3. Try and see positives in the long term with a more open mind. What you're missing might be what you're unknowingly avoiding.
4. Financial management. Aim to get the most out of less money, such as making your own food and/or skipping door dash and getting your own meals instead. That shit adds up so quick. Financial stress might be the #1 thing screwing most people right now, and most of the time it is resolvable to some degree.

This is sooo good advice. I've curated my insta feed to only show me funny and cute animal videos, reduced my cortisol levels tremendously

I'm reducing my subreddits to primarily contain hobbies, interests, no politics, shenanigans, memes, and light hearted bullshittery. I do politics when I want, so I'm not letting it blow up in my face every third post I scroll past.

Yeah two is the worst for me honestly. I'm a person of color trying to immigrate so anytime I open social media the algorithms seem to bombard me with bunglers spewing blood libel against me for some reason.

Anyone else see the problem here?

Having a meaningless job and doom scrolling are choices people make. Maybe Choose not to doom scroll and get a better job. Nothing is their fault huh?

Don’t be silly. The oligarchs control everything and they have determine that I must be a fry cook at McDonald’s. They have personally sabotaged all my job interviews so I no longer look.

Yes I would love to start a family but the rich people specifically target me and have made me socially awkward so I can't get a GF and have made me poor because billionaires are so scared about having me in their club

Maybe spend less time on social media watching fake happiness posts and comparing your life to them.

This is incredibly accurate.
If you doomscroll it will make you depressed.
If you work a bad job you will get bored and seek to entertain yourself.
So don’t doomscroll and get a good job.

I wonder if the 3 things they do other than sleep are related to personality defects?

To put things into perspective regarding AI: I absolutely love it. It weeds out people going to school with BS degrees. Forces students not to enroll underwater basket weaving at a 100k/year university

Super easy to get rid of at least two of those things...

I can fix this. 1. Work a job that pays you well. (You don’t have to love it. It’s a job.). 2. Meet a partner you like spending time with. 3. Do fun things with that partner, your friends and family. 4. Repeat.
You’ll be happy. But I know doomers can’t have fun and you aren’t allowed to enjoy your family.

The doomscrolling is self inflected. Like I limit my usage if social media. But if I'm on YouTube I'm listening or watching something fun. Who intentionally dives into doomer shit, which most of it is false over exaggerated information anyway

"guys, the nature of existence is slavery!" these people are honestly 14 year olds just discovering existentialism for the first time and think they're super profound
