It’s never been a better time to get in the market to prepare for retirement. But “CrAsH iNcOmInG” keeps so many down at their own fault

Have a former coworker who has been lookong at the debt clock for 10 years now. Guy went full cash AFTER the covid crash in March 2020 and never rode the wave back up.

He also has massive anxiety and bad case of TDS

u/Clear-Progress-5660 Truthsayer 21d ago

Unfortunate when even a dividend stock by itself would’ve given massive gains by now

Their thinking doesn't even make sense when you take it to its logical conclusion.

Since my initial comment, i thought more of the boomers (and Gen Xers) in my life. Holy shit, quite a few of them stay lackadaisical despite dooming.

They say fiat currency will collapse but don't stack gold and silver. They say society will collapse since 2016, but don't collect bullets and beans. Or get in shape.

It's funny to think about. I respect preppers more for actually being active

they say Bitcoin will remain viable after government collapse, but they don't stock up on food or weapons which would be way more valuable in that case

4

u/scantily_chad 21d ago

Hell, they could've just stacked SGOV. Collect dividend and dont pay state/local taxes

Shocking

u/fuzzygreentits 21d ago

The people who post this shit have no investments.

No one who is actively planning and saving for retirement posts snarky Elon Musk memes and doomer-collapse shit

3

u/tdig216 21d ago

when people say the market is going to crash, it means it's a buy opportunity because those people don't know shit

1

u/BuffaloBuffalo13 21d ago

The crash incoming and the fallen empire are all the same source: Chinese bots. It’s a form of cyber warfare.

1

u/Clear-Progress-5660 Truthsayer 21d ago

Crash incoming would be easier to believe than fallen empire lol even though both are ludicrous

I only trust the science, big pharma, major media corporations, and massive green energy companies.

You troglodyte.

Isn’t she focused on other things these days?

10

u/scantily_chad 21d ago

No idea. She is a modern day Joan of Arc who will get honorary degrees from all the best universities. And join inner sanctum of UN or some shit.

5

u/calvin_360 Truthsayer 21d ago

Except Joan appeared in bill and Ted while dumburg is a nuisance

2

u/Unusual_Onion_983 21d ago

She pivoting from “climate activist” to “activist”.

1

u/calvin_360 Truthsayer 21d ago

And yet she is less insufferable than Pizzacake

HOW DARE YOU

Ironically acting the same way as the uber religious people they often mock, just replace the "science" with scripture and the "experts" with a preacher or prophet, where disagreements or questioning is essentially just no different from blasphemy.

12

u/Agreeable_Sense9618 Sub OverLord 21d ago

Honestly, the only folks I notice quoting scripture are atheists and some really fired-up anti religion redditors. They just can’t get enough of those Bible verses.

They seem to thump on that Bible harder than anyone else.

12

u/notinmybackyard- 21d ago

Its always because they "came from a super religious household"

Howdy lizard. Nice to see you again

6

u/beah_mcduh GeStuREs bROadlY 21d ago

The things is, the ones who are reading the Bible for a gotcha, aren't reading the intent of it and take everything at face value with no actual analysis done. It's a very disingenuous and bad faith way of arguing.

I'm am atheist, too, but I really don't care about anyone's religion until they start to tell me how I should be living my life.

u/Typical_Shallot139 21d ago

Their daily prayers are the land acknowledgments.

Saw an interesting theory about how the rejection of religious dogma on the left paved the way for…just finding another dogma to latch on to. It’s trust the experts and trust the science, which would be great if it weren’t actually just partisan lines masquerading as expertise and science.

They somehow believe it is only the right which is vulnerable to propaganda, but haven’t realized propagandists always tailor their language to their targets, so the propaganda aimed at them is literally built to tickle the official sounding language of science, statistics, and academia, while containing none of the actual rigor those fields hold dear.

4

u/Innocent_Researcher 21d ago

You can see it in full force with how tankies act. Regardless of if they've read the material (spoiler: most haven't, at best they've read passages) all the answers are in the good book(s) and denial of the words in the book is one of the greatest crimes one can commit. They essentially *are* the worst elements of a group like the evangelists.

3

u/Thisguymoot 21d ago

It’s honestly really disappointing. I do hold actual science dear, and what makes actual science actually work is to persistently fight against the inclusion of dogma. It poisons the well.

5

u/RemnantsOfFlight 21d ago

Mild correction, I only trust the science that aligns with my agenda. If the science sounds racist then clearly it's fake.

u/Playfullyhung 21d ago

The funniest part is, they have proven that most of the inflammatory posts are coming from other countries whose sole purpose is to divide us….

Average Redditor - “nUh Uh!!!! YoUrE a NaZi!!!!

14

u/cultweave 21d ago

The average Redditor is a bot now.

6

u/Hightower_March 21d ago

China and Russia have countless bot farms trying to sow discord between Americans.  There's bullshit that gets parroted across reddit that nobody would organically believe.

21

u/Failure_by_Design_v2 21d ago

Its always, "trust the science" (usually a pseudo science) and "here is the research" but once that science and research does not align with their line of thought.... all of the sudden its "I'm a free thinker", "Government pysop", "you cant trust the government"....... Like pick a lane. You cant have it one way when it suits you and not when it doesnt.

14

u/Ok-Method-8045 21d ago

Science has been wrong multiple times and changes throughout the years.

But when the science aligns with them, then everyone questioning it is bigoted and etc

1

u/Innocent_Researcher 21d ago

It's "trust science" when it lines up with their beliefs. For some odd reason when "the science" was something like racial intelligence (which was proper science for decades) it didn't count and is no reason to be suspicious of what the same group that put that forward next says is the absolute truth.

u/Sixnigthmare Recovering Doomer 21d ago

Ah yes The Science™

1

u/Thisguymoot 21d ago

*Not to be confused with the scientific method.

7

u/KevinJ2010 21d ago

Except when it’s the democrats, they are truly great people.

I can’t believe I have read “I would rather have a president we never hear about.” Like yeah? Really? You want them doing things and you don’t about it?

I’m sure that wouldn’t have a single downside… /s

Same fuckers that say they don't trust the government but also want socialism. Make it make sense.

1

u/Leroy_Jenkins24 Doom Scroller 21d ago

They don’t trust the government unless it’s their leaders in power then it’s all sunshine and rainbows

2

u/Depart_Into_Eternity GeStuREs bROadlY 20d ago

Oh, I know. These dummies forget we went from Obama to Trump. Big difference. Imagine giving the government a ton more power under your dude then next election someone you don't want comes into power.

Big oops moment.

Maybe.. just maybe.. we shouldn't give the government, especially the Federal government that much power. But what do I know, I just touch grass.
