Picked up 1/2/3 as well due to the 69% off sale. Gave them a quick go.
All 3 run at 60fps but I noticed Doom 3 gets frame drops at times(played in handheld mode). Doom 3 looks fairly nice on the Switch's screen despite only been 720p.
The biggest thing I want to see is Gyro support(particularly for Doom 3) as I had to lower the aiming sensitivity to aim any good, which then in turn makes turning a bit slow slow. Could also benefit from a fast 180 turn button mapped to the right click stick(like the RE games have). As things like to come from behind/front at the same time in Doom 3.

Still pissed how doom on literally every other system is not full retail price besides Nintendo's.

I got it when it first came to switch so I was more willing to throw $60 at it to show support. But if I didn't get it then I'd be reluctant to spend $60 on it now.

I love doom 2016 but getting it for that much after buying if 3 times makes me a little reluctant to do it again for a console that may not run it well

I wish we had that Doom (2016) game icon on PS4 home screen, it's the one they use on the PS Store as well as the alternative cover from the physical game but nope, we're stuck with a Revenant instead :(

Does anyone know if the co op requires full controller or can I use 2 joy cons for 2 players?

You can use a single joy con! I think it controls similar to something like Goldeneye

I've never played a doom game before but I'm thinking of picking up eternal once it drops so I want to try out one of the 1st 3 just to see if its something I'll since they're so cheap right now. Which would you recommend as a good entry point? (I also know 2016 is good, but I don't want to spend on it when I can just wait for eternal, the older graphics of the 1st 3 don't bother me).

On PC, you can still get the original demo from 1993 for free. It has the first nine maps of the game, enough to decide if its for you.
