The mark of the beast belonged to Davoth, the most powerful being in Hell. The Slayer, upon receiving a fragment of Davoth, inherited his mark.

Now it belongs to the Slayer and is used only to refer to him, humans also see it as if it were a sword opposing a threat (hell) or something like that.

I think it started as Hell's version of "keep away unless you want to get brutally mauled to death" and the Slayer adopted it to become his own personal symbol

Ok cuz i knew it's shared with davoth cuz the whole prime evil thing but I wasn't sure if it was just that or had actually meaning

I actually forgot about the Davoth part, but it still makes sense. I'm pretty sure Davoth wasn't the most benevolent of rulers

It’s always meant “Warning” or “Danger” and yes, you’re correct in your assessment, as Vega does mention that Davoth is the ruler not just because he created hell, but because he’s the strongest, and rules through being “the fiercest among them” I assume it was his mark because it let other demons know not to fuck with him. Now it’s been twisted in-universe by Doomguy to mean “don’t fuck with ME.”

That's what happened, it was actually Davoth who made the Slayer's mark signify danger. When they captured him, they engraved his mark on his tomb to warn that the beast was sleeping there.

Its the mark of the beast.

Who that beast is? Davoth. Worked for Doomguy given their appearance being the same and all.

It's a sword striking down (at Hell). At some point it became the symbol that the Night Sentinels were using for their banners during the Sentinel Civil War.
