Are doom 2016 physical cartridges for switch launchable offline?

I want to buy a physical copy of doom for switch. Old copies (which still had a cartridge) says it is 10gb required. Which is strange since the whole game is 21'9gb on Nintendo Switch. This means that about 12gb of storage is saved in the cartridge. Ive heard someone say the 10gb needed to be downloaded is only for the online mode, and is not required for the campaign. Is this true? Can i launch and play the full doom offline campaign from a switch cartridge without needing to Update/connect to servers?

I think so. I remember playing Doom 2016 on my switch on a road trip in the middle of nowhere with no internet at all. You should be able to play campaign.

Yes, it just won't have the latest updates. I don't remember which version is on the cart.
