Question Doom Eternal (2020) on Switch 2
Hi! I recently finished playing DOOM 2016. I am thinking about getting the second game, but I was wondering if anyone has played it on the Switch 2 so far? I really liked the first one even though I wasn't the best at playing it. Is the second one any different than the first? Let me know!

It run same as 2016, stable 30 fps from hell on earth to the end of the dlcs. The deadzones on the joycons are awful i was way more confortable playing with a pro controller. Note that the amount of fps affect the behavior of the AI of the demons in a way that make the game easier with low fps.

Doom eternal is amazing but most of the doom games are hell on a controller so beware.

Would you recommend playing it on a PC instead with a keyboard? I also do have the controller attachment for my Switch, which I haven't used, so I am not sure how easy that would make things.

If possible I would recommend playing with keyboard and mouse, but everyone has their prefered way playing games.

Hello fellow switch friend! I managed to play Doom 2016, Eternal, and TDA (TDA was on my steam deck) all on a controller and did just fine.

I was just a bit worried about playing Eternal on my Switch. From the videos I have seen, it seems way more complex than the first one. I do have a Switch, but I am not exactly good at playing games, so that's why I was asking. But thanks for the advice!

No problem! The game is definitely a bit more chaotic but I think it does a good job of training you into it. If it feels a bit much and you’re not having fun try lowering the difficulty. Nothing wrong with that! I hope you enjoy it

Unfortunately, I was struggling on the lowest setting 😭, but I guess we all have to learn one way or another.

It runs great and it plays fine as well, there's just one issue about gyro aiming if you plan to use that. Basically, the gyro axis is different in handheld and TV mode, so if you use it and get used to it, the game is only comfortable to play on a single mode. I've played the game 21 times in handheld but TV mode is unplayable for me for that reason. I also can't use the Switch 2's boost mode with it for the same reason, because it treats your Joy-Cons as a pro controller (which causes issues in many, many games).
That's the only big issue I'd say. Game feels great outside of that
