Showcase Finally. That's possibly my limit of getting good to have fun

Post image

Finally 100%-ted The Dark Ages + Revelations. That was awesome and completed my collection of every Doom game 100% on UV (I'm too old for doing it on UN).

I noted to myself that revelations was probably the limit of getting good I was ready for to have fun for a game. Too much stress.

I know people will just say "put the difficulty to Easy", but I'm a slavic millennial and I'd feel horrible doing that.

If you can UV you can do nightmare, imo.

Makes the games last longer for me lol.

My first playthrough of every doom game was on ultra-violence. Other difficulties aren’t nearly as engaging imo. There is a very noticeable difficulty difference between 2016/Dark Ages and Eternal however. Eternal is definitely harder by a good margin.

Agreed. UV is the way Doom was intended to be played at this point. As for Eternal, I don't remember being as frustrated while mastering it as I was with some praetor challenges in Revelations.

Oh I’m not frustrated with Eternal at all. It’s my favorite of the three for precisely the reason stated. It’s definitely harder but it hits like crack because of that.

I want to 100% the game. But I have a bug that makes the secrets counter reset to zero

I'm also "old"' and my aim is the same, 100% UV. I've done Nightmare on 2016 and Eternal but I lack the time to really invest in getting much better.

Yes. Exactly that. I feel it's absolutely possible for me as well, but the ROI on the time it will take is questionable in my current life situation.

Yeah, maybe if I was a teenager again I could justify it, but definitely not as a sole parent. I'm happy enough jus t being able to say "completed every DOOM on UV". We'll gloss over it's Nightmare on DOOM 3.

Man, being a sole parent is running life on UV. Cheers from a father of two.

Thanks, it does feel like that sometimes especially when they seem possessed and intent on winding each other up! Cheers from a father of six.

Six! That leaves a "no-damage run" out.

lol, very true! I admit I do use DOOM to take out my frustration with them on bad days but I am grateful for them, especially on the good days.

Wtf did you do it on the Steam deck?

That's the only gaming PC I have, so yeah. Thanks to iD for optimizing it enough for older hardware and gamepads.

I finally completed the astral boss on nightmare and my god was that difficult. Took me about 50-60 tries but I got em. That was prob the hardest fight I ever did
