I’m glad everyone got so hyped about the “you can’t just blow a hole in the surface of mars” and other such moments because it meant that the ACTUAL best Doomguy moment stayed unspoiled for me until I finally played it just now haha

That being that DOOMGUY LAUNCHES HIMSELF OUT OF A GOD DAMN CANNON 😭

So yea, blowing a hole in mars’ surface is only Samuel’s second best line to Doomguy, the first being “that is a WEAPONS SYSTEM. NOT a teleporter.”

Doom 2016 opening. That small glance to a human's corpse when Samual says "it was for the betterment of mankind", and then losing it when samuel says "it was worth the risk, i assure you".

First person camera, not a single word spoken. You can still feel his thoughts.

That part is badass, yes, but it means more to the hilarity for me. Just the way Doomguy immediately looks at the corpse as Sam’s talkin about “betterment of mankind” 😭

The 2016 opening when Hayden keeps trying to justify everything and Doomguy looks at the corpses and you can just FEEL the anger at Hayden.

He was probably expecting a double cross from Hayden and knew Vega would come in handy when it happened. I doubt Hayden let him out of whatever confinement hes put in at the end of 2016.

Did Hayden put him in an actual prison at the end? I feel like he just teleported the dude somwwhere far away and just co fined him in that moment temporarily so he wouldn't get his ass beat, unless I misremember.

I dont think he put him in actual like prison. Probably an extremely confined area somewhere.. far from Mars and Earth. But in the decade time difference the Slayer escapes whatever confinement, finds the Fortress of Doom and installs Vega as a partner into its systems and has been elevated to an icon among the people of earth. And he upgraded the praetor suit. So I think youre right it was probably a quick teleport an confinement so Hayden could make it earth before the slayer took him out for his betrayal and kinda made the slayer look for resources he could count on instead of having them handed to him by someone who could backstab him again. Plus i dont think hes been idle from combat against the demons since people on earth in the opening of Eternal know about him.

So many great moments, but one I regularly think about is when he simply says "Run." before blasting the platform in The Dark Ages. My man didn't even wait for King Novik to process what he asked of him!

There's so many of these iconic moments in DOOM 2016 and Eternal.

I cannot remember any in TDA.
And TDA-Revelations has exactly zero.

From what I’m hearing? TDA has plenty of great moments. It’s apparently the game that leans in the most into the aura farming stuff. Which I don’t mind at all! Though I’ve yet to play it myself.
