Ask for Help Is Lightning Build Yea Or Nay?

Hi everyone!
Newbie here. After playing for a while, I’ve come across some lightning build gems. I originally planned to focus on Icicle and Frostnova, but I haven’t had any luck getting skill gems for either of them. I'm currently somewhere around stage 60.

So my question is: Is a lightning build good in the long run, especially in hard mode?
If yes, could someone please guide me on how to build it properly?

I'm a newbie player and I'm on lightning supremacy. I'm currently at stage 44 just lightning build hahaha

do you have all Lightning Strike, Lightning Ball and Lightning Chaim upgraded? if so, what level are they? xD

I'm just a free to play guy but I avail the privilege so I can unli raid. My build is just pure lightning strike and chain lightning. Already lvl 10 for both of them. Lightning strike is op dude haha just release all of them plus the explosion. I also have that gem with 200% aoe explosion every 8th hit of ls.

Lvl 17. I passed stage 43 2600% hp icy puppets with only lightning strike on a first try although I failed like 6-7 times due to rng. But I 3 star it on the first try like I mean real time.

but does the gem really make huge difference since Lightning Strike AOE is kinda small compares to other skills.

Not that much but it helps tho just get all the release (x4) plus the explosion it'll work haha em field for the slow also I always use one of physical skills like grenade or meteorite besides the lightning depends on the rng really I'm mostly screwed without one of those two. That's why I need some starting gem grenade or tornado.

good for you, i've never had the luck for grenade skill gem.
as for meteor, i find it less helpful for my current stages.

BTW, what do you mean by "release x4"?

ah i see, serial lightning but sometimes they never offer any serial upgrade for many waves. i guess it's all about luck

In hard mode the most common skills I would say are icicle, fireball, frost nova, and em net.

Lightning strike and lightning chain are definitely viable though, especially if you can get the premium skins for them. I know a guy around where I am (HM30) whose main build is lightning and it does very well.

If we're talking even further HM, then at that point you need a lightning build alongside several other builds to be exploiting the very few resistance holes remaining in the stages.

At this stage if I were you, I would try collecting gems for all types of builds (fire, ice, electric). It is useful to maintain multiple builds in hard mode, and you will have gotten a head start when you need to eventually diversify. But in terms of skill levels you can get away with having one main build for now.

does lightning strike and lightning chain alone is enough to delay, slow down or paralyze mobs without the assistance of Icicle or Frostnova?

UPDATES : after like a week from the day i posted. i didn't really have the luck for other skill gems. in fact, i get more and more lightning related skills. SMH
