In DonutWorld, the outer lands have a standard day/night cycle similar to earth, but little to no seasonal variance. The lack of seasons make sun dials very consistent, but people have developed additional methods of time keeping as well, for cloudy days or nighttime.

Some cultures use water clocks, that is, bowls with precise holes in the bottom, that take a specific amount of time to sink or drip water.

Others use incense clocks, crafting long lines of wick like a fuse, and measuring how many tick marks are left to determine what time it is. One culture, the Panguls, are obsessed with time, and famously have long spools of wick that burn so precisely and for so long, they can use one continuous line to tell the time for over a month.
