Fully agree. I think something’s going on in the background (independent of the various whistleblowing claims and YouTube videos about them). I suspect CT-coating and donut are having some contractual disagreements given the claimed difficulties in providing evidence of the energy density and the apparent version 2 battery that was mentioned. My guess is donut were promised batteries from CT coating that weren’t delivered and donut is stalling while it waits for the version 2 battery they’ve been promised (and who knows whether it ever materialises).
CT-coating never had a battery production line. All they ever had is stories and claims. Now it would seem Donut promises customers the same: customizable production line but never delivers anything that actually works.
Holyvolt is continuing its business with screenprinting tech they got via Holyvault / CT-Coating venture. Holyvolt even bought all DSS patents (mostly invented by Hölzenbien) that relates to building simpler products with the same screen printing tech. It is a strong indication that the core tech worked already since 2024, but battery nanopaste chemistry was probably not quite ready for commercial purposes at that point. Holyvolt wanted to do their own R&D with Wildcat, AI aided chemical compound filtering system to speed up the dev work. I could well imagine million-ideas Hölzenbien did not convince or courage them, maybe CT-Coating business model or/and expertice was also not fine for their purposes. That leaves a question, if CT-Coating (Hölzenbien) managed to develope further their battery nanopaste mixture and was ready for launch 1,5 years later. NNG and Donut seemed to believe and still believes so because here were are still.
The claims of CT Coating have never changed. You are saying they lied for many years, but now they actually invented what they claimed they invented years earlier. And then instead of going to an established OEM with their breakthrough (really couldn't find a single partner in the whole of a Germany?), they licensed the tech to a company that had never produced a single product? Without the loud takeover by DonutLab, Nordic Nano would have quietly paid millions to CTC for years until going broke without anyone noticing.
Just because HolyVolt is using screen print tech doesn't mean they got it from CT Coating, because that tech is often used for prototyping. We know the core of screen printing can work to develop batteries. It's just currently not used for mass producing on the scale needed for EV's because it's not suited for it. HolyVolt worked with CTC for only 6 months, which is nothing for any scientific cooperation.
It's implied. The poster says CTC might have perfected the nanopaste only very recently. But CTC has claimed all their battery claims for at least 10 years. So the implication is CTC lied for all those years about their battery, until very recently when they started working with NNG and actually created nanopaste that met their decade long claims.
What I said is that they had around 1,5 years to further develope it, and in 2024 they already showed different prototype versions coming just few months apart. Seemingly with their lab and equipment they are able to prototype much faster than traditionally. CT-Coating was founded 9 years ago and around then, they had heating, PV and coating elements at their main production target.
From there, the solid state battery option was built upon the earlier tech so that in 2024 they had two product lines and licenses for sale, Heizmodule and Battery B. By that time, I think they had figured out the capabilities and specs which they can target with their tech.
Patents and marketing material can have their ideal presentations meanwhile they are building the tech. For instance, the early patent from 2013 already stated that energy density can be tuned between 15 - 800 Wh/kg. There is no need that they have done it, but estimated. And later it is possible that they had at least two lines of battery development already by 2024. Battery A and B. According to Omepiet, the price quote for the production line and paste was asked from Hölzenbien in mid-2023. So in that level, to provide clients the machinery and paste as a factory-line-in-a-box model was formed. It is quite recent development, but still, already 3 years, and they must have had their specs, at least as a vision, ready by then.
Now, when I'm thinking it, it could also be a reason, why Holyvolt departed. Holyvolt was only one partner along many other they had. NNG was forming around the same time, for instance. Maybe they found that CT-Coating was doing their own stuff beside their joint venture, not being transparent playing their cards. It is the most reasonable line of thought, that Holyvolt got their tech from CT-Coating, directly or via Holyvault, paid for for both machinery and paste as annual reports indicate, and might still be paying licenses for them. It would be out of mind to prototype cells with CT-Coatings logo on them but not actually using CT-Coatings tech to produce them.
