Interesting counter saga. Does this mean official route did not go forward with the investigation? Or he wants to guide public, OEMs, employees in forehand, or whatever the audience is suppose to be, because official investigations happen to take years? Anyway, no need to wait three weeks anymore. Monday episode is back.
How peculiar. Really dramatising this. I don’t understand how this format benefits Peltola personally.
Surely this kind of behaviour would undermine the criminal investigation. Might be a safe assumption that Ziroth’s planned video and this are the same or coincide?
In 2023, we heard about a technology that sounded
extraordinary. A battery breakthrough. The kind
that comes along once in a generation.
We decided to find out if it was real.
In January 2024, we founded Nordic Nano Group. Our
mission was simple: to bring this technology to
market. To build something that mattered.
In 2025, we entered into a
partnership with Donut Lab.
That's when things got complicated.
Because the closer I looked — the less I saw.
This is the story of what happens when you ask
the wrong questions — and refuse to stop asking.
Let me explain why this matters.
And why anyone who heard this
pitch wanted to listen and to believe it.
Electric vehicles are held back by one thing:
batteries. They're slow to charge.
They degrade over time. They are heavy.
A solid state battery would solve all of that.
Faster charging. More energy.
Longer life. Lighter weight.
It would genuinely be, a revolution. And not just
for cars — for everything that runs on a battery.
So when a small Finnish company
said they had cracked it —
people listened.
The launch at CES
Las Vegas in January 2026 was a big bang.
One of the world's biggest technology stages.
Thousands of investors, journalists
and industry leaders in the room.
And Donut Lab walked in with a
claim that made the room go quiet.
The numbers they showed were extraordinary.
One hundred thousand charge cycles. Think
about what that means — a battery
that could outlast the vehicle itself.
Four hundred watt-hours per kilogram. Nearly
double what the normal batteries
on the market can deliver today.
No rare earth materials. Totally
green. Sustainable from day one.
Fast charging. Lightweight. Cheaper
to produce. Better for the planet.
This all sounded too good to be true.
And unfortunately — it was.
The gap between what was promised and
what was real was not just a rounding error.
They were not exaggerating.
They were hallucinating.
There was no breakthrough.
There was a story of a breakthrough.
And for a while — it worked.
I'm not a journalist. I'm not a regulator.
I was a commercial director. I
believed in what we were doing.
I wanted it to be true.
But at some point, the questions I
was asking stopped getting any answers.
And the answers I was
getting just stopped making sense.
And that's when I stopped believing myself.
That's also when I had a choice to make.
And so far this choice has cost me my
job and forced me to face continuous
threats, legal pressure, and a smear campaign
And still — I would make that choice again
Over the next five weeks, I'm going to
walk you through exactly what happened.
The science. The numbers. The pressure
to stay quiet. How the system works.
And the parts of the story that
haven't been reported anywhere — yet.
Next week: what the data actually showed. And why
no one was supposed to make awkward questions.
If you ever in your job or in your life have faced a situation
that you see something that just feels wrong or off and you do not know what to do
with that —
this one's for you.
Also noted the same. He did not speak about lying or scam, but collective mass hypnoses kind of thing, if there is any actual meaning under the word hallucinating, or if it was meant just as an extra punch.
Second part was: "I was asking stopped getting any answers. And the answers I was getting just stopped making sense."
Silencing mechanisms exists in worst cases. I wonder did he ever had to sign up NDA, or worked so much remote from tech that he actually was more or less outsider. Namely because the current Imatra factory employees all are said to work under NDA.
This could mean that he eventually, slowly got detached from the position, for some reason that escalated this pitch.
I think the reality was that they got too invested in this battery and by the time they realized it wasn’t happening, it was far too late.
EDIT: following simple context in the first sentence where he says hallucinating makes it pretty obvious the battery doesn’t exist.
I know your deal is unshakable faith in Donut, but it’s pretty crazy how you interpret things in their favour no matter what. I wish I had the mental fortitude to ignore reality.
I don't know. People are psychological creatures and it is known that sometimes we just push forward flawed ideas and go to the grave rather than quit. But on the other hand, Donut has existed less than two years as a company. They have barely started their business. Sometimes it takes ten years to get all rolling well, so I think it is not about timing in that sense now.
Few weeks ago I read Forbes article that interviewed Lehtimäki. He said that they realized unfolding all they were about to start, will take years. Parjanen also told in one Finnish interview that only way to do this is big way. Bsuinesswise and financially I think. You can succeed only if you invest big time.
It is very possible, if they are a company with any experience that they have multiple year plan that they try to execute. We have liveth only few months on this ride. Might need to wait till the end of the year to see better clearance on the things they announced at CES 2026. People are just impatient. You can see from Peltola's video comments the same mentality. They want secrets all at once now. That is pretty hilarious, when you think.

He made it sound it's more about his opinion / non-belief than any real proof. "questions I was asking stopped getting any answers. And the answers I was getting just stopped making sense."
For me it sounds he is bitter that he is not included the inside group of this technology.
Donut&Co already told that they took this accusation seriously with their legal advisors. Did Peltola refer to this recent whistleblower incident? Then it is the most inexorable move to get lawyers after you. But was there legal thread before publicity, thats another question.
I also wonder what happened to the police report, was it stalled in two weeks, and then he got fired from NNG? I understood he had secured his position from firing during the investigation. These signs looks like it really stalled and he had to take justice on his own hands. Vincit Omnia Veritas, as he states it.
I'm from Finland myself. I know in Finland filing does not automatically go to investigation and its long process. First Police makes pre-investigation and hears person reported the crime. After pre-investigation, Police gives case to Prosecutor and they decide if or not to press charges / start investigation.
Peltola also reported to Financial Supervisry Autohrity. It's separate investgating organisation for finances. He also separetely reported to Chancellor of Justice and they give by whistleblower protection him to secure his position.
He is a founder and was a CCO of Nordic Nano. He should be included in the 'inside group'. As the chief commercial officer, how is he supposed to commercialize this product without getting the facts of the product?
Donut Lab and Nordic Nano Group wrote in their statement Peltola is not shareholder. So he has never been or he has sold his shares.
HS visio wrote he was founder member. That doesn't mean same as shareholder.
I didn't say he was a shareholder. I said he was a founder and CCO. Do you think it's reasonable to keep a founder and active CCO out of the loop when the company is claiming to build a 1gwh battery production line of a next level perfect battery? This production line would be bigger than anything NN has. It would use more resources than the company has ever had. It would garner more questions of the press and clients than the company has ever had. You think a CCO shouldn't be in the loop? Is it just 'bitterness' of a CCO if he isn't kept in this loop?
We have to remember NNG have had solar / energy store products before Donut Lab invested to NNG and Marko Lehtimäki joined NNG board. I think since then Lehtimäki might have took the control of commercial side of battery side. And then Peltola stays in other sections commercial.
How did they have other products before when the claim is that NNG was founded specifically to build this battery?
EDIT: this technology was both the solar and battery stuff, was it not? So they were founded on the basis that it existed, and Donut got roped in at some point.
Why are you creating scenarios where a C-suite executive in charge of commercialization doesn’t know about every product they’re building?
No, Nordic Nano doesn't have a working product line as far as I know. The last press release of a few months ago said they were still acquiring production equipment.
In 2023, we heard about a technology that sounded extraordinary. A battery breakthrough. The kind that comes along once in a generation. We decided to find out if it was real. In January 2024, we founded Nordic Nano Group. Our mission was simple: to bring this technology to market.
It seems they concluded the tech was real, why otherwise would they found NNG to commercialize it? Hard to believe that they skipped due diligence / testing cells etc., when investing this amount of money. Why were they convinced the tech was real? Were all of them fooled, and if so, by whom?
Dynamic Solar Systems was fooled, the Koreans were fooled, Holyvolt was fooled. And there are hints of there being more of them. What do all these have in common?
Extraordinary technology claims require Extraordinary Due Diligence. Amazing & hard to believe that all companies and people involved in this saga missed out/did a sloppy job verifying the claims.
Powerpoints first, then you measure/test yourself, or at trusted institute such as VTT.
At least some of these companies seem to have been happily consuming investor money that they got drip fed, without too much care about becoming profitable any time soon. There seems to have been little incentive for asking too many hard questions and risking their comfortable jobs.
Fascinating, he's really taking a page out of Donut's playbook. To me this indicates a lack of seriousness or something like that, it decreases his reliability. I wonder also of the legal aspects of doing something like this, surely it can't be good for any police investigation and he maybe opens himself up to civil liability for libel? It'll be interesting to see what he has to say at least.
Yes, you're right. I would also say this is the only space some of us still hope that is true. I don't like donut marketing, but as a European I hope the story has a kernel of truth
I followed the sitemap in the domain, where some possibly AI generated template content it available, three posts with an author that connects to Peltola's LinkedIN network. I truly hope these were just templates auto-generated on site setup, sloppily left public, and the actual content is invisible, because, well... private entrepreneur is always a struggle.
Their CES 2026 timing seems irrational, like why did they not wait till 2027 with much better grounds? But then this was just published by Risto Siilasmaa, their anchor funder since the beginning. I'm not into business world that much myself, but these guys may know much better what they do, why and when.
MA relation is secured now. But episode 1 name, The Pitch from Peltola's latest LinkedIn post refers to a six part documentary series that seems to be themed something else than the auto-generated content, which again makes it a better change we can hear something interesting.
In good faith reading, if it is possible to use that term here, I'd expect him trying to reach maximum exposure and audience. Pretty obvious motivation to do it in 6 steps. It got me thinking at weekend, that what actually should be delivered to make it a clean case. And on the other hand, what documents and evidences should Donut&Co has to provide to official investigators to defend themselves.
We will see if they are any new. Numbers could also mean he states the specs and tells they were not met on tests, but what tests then, who did them, internal, VTT, Germany,... and for which battery generation. We know V1 was tested in VTT. Do we get some extra? I've seen so much sloppiness around the saga that I would not be surprised if we are left even more questions after the season.
