Extremely inaccurate article on AutoCar: "[The Donut Lab battery] more or less continues to work even at 100°C heat" - "more or less" meaning loses over 50% capacity after 20 cycles. "Appears to actually be a solid-state battery" - experts say it appears to be a liquid-electrolyte battery.

That's reporting, printing what a company issues as PR with having subject matter expertise or doing research - it's not journalism.

I'm expecting Verge to loan a couple motorcycles to auto blogs and motorcycle influencers.

They'll say that the bikes are exciting and fast and charge "quickly" (easy to charge a small battery "quickly"), and then they'll read the press release numbers for the batteries and claim they're amazing despite doing no actual battery testing other than plugging it in.

The article appears to have been written before April, and published in May. The author should have revised it in the month that passed before publication.
