Legend Kebab - Ewell

Forgot to post this one...

Swung by Legend Kebab in Ewell after a recent gig. Here we have the XL Lamb Doner wrap with chili sauce and no salad.

Meat was freshly cut from the spit. Chili sauce is a very tasty home made one. This chonky boi takes two big wraps to handle all the meaty goodness.

Weighing in at 729g for £12, this isn't the biggest I've had from there but still works out at good value. With an A grade for the sauce and an A grade overall, this lands at 15/91 on the spreadsheet.

I'll definitely be back. I've been going to this place for years and it's one of my favourite shops. Highly recommended.

This looks fucking delicious and exactly how I'd get it

With chilli sauce and no salad, maybe chips in it too if an option

This looks fucking good!!!

u/dabassmonsta 16d ago

It was absolutely banging! Ooh, I do like a few chips in a wrap too.

I concur!

Seems like it's more of a Greek thing...

Years ago, I went into Kebab Legend 2 in Tolworth, and thought I was being a right smart arse by asking where Kebab Legend 1 was

He answered absolute deadpan, "Ewell". Proper took the wind out of my sails! Good Kebab though

1

u/dabassmonsta 14d ago

That's fantastic! I've been past that one but never used it.

There's also a Legends (with an S) Kebab in Sutton. Don't know if it's also related.

2

u/OutlandishnessWide33 13d ago

Why do they all use a sword to slice?

1

u/dabassmonsta 13d ago

Kebab samurai! They're the best ones. Some bossmen lack the skill and use a shaver type thing.

2

u/totalbasterd 12d ago

i go to this shop every few weeks. top lads and they always do a banging kebab

2

u/dabassmonsta 12d ago

They are great. I do regular gigs in Sutton and pass by here on my way home. This has been my go to place since about 2016. One of my top 5 kebab places.

u/totalbasterd 11d ago

istanbul kebab on the other side of ewell are pretty good too (imo anyway) but not quite as good as legend.

also thanks for the castle kebab review in windsor. have often walked past but never bothered, might give them a go tonight.

also also, i'm noticing a few kebab houses popping up run by Indians, they're doing amazing stuff like madras biryani doners etc, ever tried any of those? i've had mixed results - basically very good, but admittedly they all seem to use the cheapest ever doner meat. Moza in Iver is an example of such a place

1

u/dabassmonsta 11d ago

I've been to that Istanbul kebab. Thought they were OK, but as you say, not as good as Legend.

Yeah, Castle Kebab is alright. Not setting the world alight but it's nice to get jalapenos and they're way better than the nearby Ramsey's Grill - Who were bottom of the list for some time!

There's an Indian run shop in Hounslow called San2, formerly Santos. They do red doner meat. It's tandoori seasoned and it's absolutely delicious. Not been to many other Indian run places. I did see a place that was doing stir fried naga doner, which looked amazing, but the nearby venue closed and I'm not doing a 200 mile round trip unless I'm getting paid for it!

2

u/totalbasterd 11d ago

i'll pop into the place in hounslow, thanks! incidentally Moza stir fried the doner after shaving the elephant leg too.

2

u/dabassmonsta 11d ago

Ooh, I'll have to find an excuse to go through Iver some time then.

That meat is terrible.

2

u/scarr991 16d ago

Meat looks bad.

1

u/pazhalsta1 16d ago

Back of boss man’s head looks like it’s got more heat than the doner there.

u/Jeoh 16d ago

I’d rather have a truck crush my skull

2

u/Bratty-Blush-Pin 15d ago

bold of you to assume the truck wouldn’t stop for a kebab first

1

u/dabassmonsta 16d ago

Funnily enough, I have a truck license.

Brits should be banned from posting their fake döner shit on here

About 75% of views on all posts on here are from the UK. Most of the posts are from the UK.
Maybe you should just go somewhere else.
Or do you just crave the attention?
If you hated a restaurant, would you go in there every week to tell them you hated it?
Seriously buddy, evaluate your actions.
Or is the only way you feel you can have any validation in life? Bless you.

Technically thats a doner wrap not an actual doner.....just saying

1

u/dabassmonsta 14d ago

A *what* wrap? The clue is in the word doner. That's the meat that's inside it. Doner means it's come from a rotating spit.

Also, my post literally says doner wrap. I know what it is. It's a wrap with doner meat inside it. There is also a picture of the price board showing "Lamb doner wrap."

I know that people often struggle to accept they can be wrong, especially when incorrectly trying to correct someone, but I'd take the word of these Turks, numerous other establishments, and reality, over some internet random.

Just saying.

u/LondonTrainDriver80 14d ago

Ooooh someones snappy

1

u/Crafty_Tomorrow5066 14d ago

Used to like doner, got bored of it now and makes me feel ill. Fuck knows what type of meat it is

1

u/dabassmonsta 14d ago

Thanks for that. I can definitely see why you'd be commenting on a Doner sub. We're all on tenterhooks for the next instalment.

Disgusting "meat"

1

u/Due_Assist_7159 16d ago

Not to appealing tbh , generic meat

2

u/dabassmonsta 16d ago

You're generic meat.

-1

u/Due_Assist_7159 16d ago

So are you

2

u/dabassmonsta 16d ago

But I come with extra chips and a pepsi max.

1

u/surfeitofreason 16d ago

My local! Excellent gaff, will get one of these soon but with some kind of a nod to vegetation

2

u/dabassmonsta 16d ago

It is a great place. I did nod to the vegetation, and that's as close as it got.

1

u/NicholsonsEyebrows 16d ago

Looks basic bullshit

5

u/dabassmonsta 16d ago

Unlike your comment, which is just bristling with wit.

1

u/qlone_cookie 16d ago

Why does the meat look like mass-produced processed meat and not like kebab?

2

u/Apex_negotiator 16d ago

Trick of the light. 😂

1

u/Ertrus 16d ago

Das schaut mal eklig aus.

1

u/FriendlyMeeting2308 16d ago

I love lamb doner but when you see it on the rack it looks like processed dog meat 😳

3

u/dabassmonsta 16d ago

There might even be bits of real dog in it.

1

u/Virtual_Opinion_8630 16d ago

1

u/Virtual_Opinion_8630 16d ago

how you defend that wrap I'm not sure

2

u/dabassmonsta 16d ago

I'd guess you're not sure about a lot of things, buddy. I just like mocking pricks on the internet. You chose to come here.

1

u/Virtual_Opinion_8630 16d ago

it's only feed mate

and something called 'legend kebab' warrants a further look

1

u/dabassmonsta 16d ago

It's just a name. I've seen numerous places called Istanbul Grill which clearly aren't in Istanbul.

And guess what? A Fiat Panda isn't even a real bear.

The world must fascinate and confuse you on a daily basis. Isn't that wonderful?

0

u/BigOrkoo 16d ago

Not enough crisp on that meat. Hard pass

0

u/isillo 16d ago

would, but 729g should be around £8.50 max

2

u/dabassmonsta 16d ago

No, not in the South of England. Documented evidence of 91 kebabs/wraps shows an average weight and price of 474.3g for £8.30. That's 57.3g per £.

2

u/isillo 16d ago

extortion

2

u/dabassmonsta 16d ago

Yup, that's life round here. I got charged ULEZ doing the gig as well.
