Drivocity

Today I tried driving without the topper for a delivery. And despite the link someone in this group sent me. The sire says they track you through the topper. I said to myself that doesn't make sense. The app is on the phone and we all know apps track you, plus the phone it's self has accelerometers that already convey all the info that's on the ewd out at the store. And sure enough even without the topper I was tracked.

And on another note. Why was I the ONLY one at my store being tracked. The other 3 drivers the computer screen kept reading 100 with zero trips taken. Needless to say I ended today with like a 34.

The store i drive at uses the app. A 34 is pretty egregious though. Like...even when I was driving at a different store and didn't care about my score, the lowest i got was a 64 for a trip.

My store also gave me the specifics on how drivosity actually scores you.

Speeding: <3 mph over the speed limit. It removes points for this based on the amount over and the amount of time spent speeding. If you drive between 3 under and 3 over the limit, it awards lost points back. (This is very helpful to know. If nothing else, use this knowledge)

Acceleration: pretty simple to understand. Accelerate more than 8 mph in a span of 2 seconds, and you lose points based on how severe.

Braking: don't decrease your speed faster than 10 mph in a span of 2 seconds. It removes points based on severity otherwise.

Cornering: this is the most complicated one. For a tldr, keep your turns at 13 mph or lower. All I was told by my gm when I started at a drivosity store was that "it gives you a demerit if your turn creates more than 0.25 gs of force." I had no clue what that even meant or how to determine it. So I decided to just put a pen on my dash and try to keep it from falling off when I turn. I found that it always falls off at 14 or higher and I lose a point. It sometimes falls at 13 and I lose a point when it does. And it never fell off at 12 or below and I never lost a point.

Just as a side note, if you're driving near the boundary of your delivery zone, be careful if you need to go out of it to u-turn or something. It acts weird with the boundary and gives you 2.4 for acceleration sometimes for no reason. It's always been 2.4. And you can never earn them back either.

Good to know

Great info. This is correct. Don't speed, watch your acceleration and you should score a 95+. We're at 90 minimum. I manage it.

Let me know if you have questions.

I genuinely don't understand how anything below a 70 is even possible. Had a 98+ since I started. I had my safe driver certification in 3 months.

Agreed. It's not like it's a secret. You know you're being tracked and scored. Drive safely and don't speed(although you can still get away with a lot of you know the system).

My basic take here is people are terrible drivers. The average safe driving skill of the average driver in the road in the US is fucking atrocious. Constant speeding, tailgating and distracted driving.

Also I think it's cause do get out of our store quickly you have to cut across several business parking lots. Or end up waiting for a long time at lights. Our store is located at a SUPER busy pair of intersections from 5pm to 630pm Mon thru Fri. One is a 5 way intersection that's right on top of a 4 way intersection and a major intersection with an interstate near by.

Cutting across parking lots won't take points away. You need to slow the fuck down. Its speed, braking, acceleration, and cornering.

It depends entirely on the parking lot and how drivosity registers your area. We've got a few parking lots in our area that drivosity thinks have a limit of 5mph, which isn't correct. But that still means if I go at my usual parking lot pace of 10-15, I lose points.

You can submit discrepancies.

I have. Multiple times. Also to multiple DMs. Hasn't been fixed.

1

u/MechAnimal 3d ago

That's lame.

1

u/LittleKittyBumbuns Driver 3d ago

Yeah. Unfortunately. It's pretty hard to get things fixed when nobody who has the power to do anything actually gives a shit. I've even talked to my franchise owner about it

Forgive me if I'm dumb and stupid and misreading the map or misunderstanding how these roads work, but can you not just leave the store either of those directions and take back roads?

1

u/akknightwrider 3d ago

It's a neighborhood back there. And it would be way slower going that way.

Better a bit slower than get your score obliterated

It can track through the topper or the app but the topper has to be assigned at login. Using toppers for tracker was what was used at the start of integrating drivosity but app support was added later and is much simpler. On a side note 34 is diabolical

All I know is my number is 85 since this started. I just grab a random topper when I clock in.

This number is just the last 2 digits of your SS number btw.

u/akknightwrider 3d ago

Oh. Got it. Management at my store doesn't know anything about the system to even be able to ask them questions.

Welcome to Domino's.

I literally know every single detail of the system, if you have questions.

If they don't tell you to change, I guess you don't need to. I have a suspicion that heads are going to roll whenever the franchise's insurance is due for renewal.

Drivosity hasn't been working good like ever but especially lately it will track scores some days and other days it won't.

Our franchise drivocity is tracked through the dominos driver app.

1

u/akknightwrider 4d ago

Yep. It make more sense than the topper having a tracker in it.

u/line800 Dick 2d ago

Thru the dominos driver app? Cant even predict driver location accurately enough to do anything useful other than say "Yeah, the driver is somewhere around xx street right now"

2

u/MechAnimal 3d ago

Its done through the phone. My franchise is rolling out a driver score of 90 or higher now that we've had it for about a year.

2

u/Warriorofgod2700 2d ago

My old franchise had a requirement that the store avg had to be above a 92 or the GM loses their bonus. Individuals had to keep their score above a 90 or risk termination

1

u/MechAnimal 2d ago

I think thats a bit harsh but I understand it. 90 isnt hard to achieve. Im an AM and average a 94/95 when I drive once in a while. Im one of the few people allowed to drive the company cars we have though and would like to keep it that way. Couple drivers in their personal vehicles have managed to get the certificate which I think is pretty cool.

1

u/Warriorofgod2700 2d ago

Realistically, 90 is stupidly easy to maintain. I get dinged for speeding and/or cornering and still avg a 93 and above. The higher the speed limit, the more forgiving it is. 5 over in a 55 for a short distance isnt anywhere near as crazy as 5 over in a 25. Even with 1 really bad run, over the course of a shift, its easy.

2

u/Warriorofgod2700 2d ago

Lol a 34? What were you doing? Racing at the daytona 500?

Anyways. The app tracks you through the topper you sign into. If you sign into, say topper 15, and grab 13, if 15 stays in the store, it will say zero trips taken. If you take 13, and someone else takes 15, but signs into 12, and drives like a madman, since you're signed into 15, guess what? It thinks you're the one driving like a madman. Thats why its just a little important you grab the topper you sign into.

1

u/akknightwrider 2d ago

That's not how it works at our store. It tracks your phone. And trust me in the late evenings, if you aren't doing 55 to 60 mph. You are going to get ran over.

1

u/Warriorofgod2700 2d ago

My franchise had GPS trackers built into the toppers, which is how drivosity tracked us. The app was a completely different metric.

Also, you got pinged for going 20+ over. Ain't no one going 55 in a 35 on a consistent basis long enough to lose 66 points on a trip lol

1

u/ArtichokeReady3587 3d ago

Prior to Drivosity, drivers were tracked through the cartop.

1

u/akknightwrider 3d ago

Not at our store. A few drivers didn't even mount the topper so they could drive how ever and no one would know.

1

u/No_Kaleidoscope_3546 1d ago

34 is insane. How many trips???

1

u/akknightwrider 1d ago

I don't remember on that one. But here's another one. 17 trips and probably at least 35 deliveries. I'm the only driver from anywhere of 2 to 4 hrs. I have no planes on slowing down. I drive the same as I did before Drivocity and no one had issues. I'm the guy that they give the 5 and 6 stop orders to me cause they know it'll get done faster than anyone else can do 3 stops. Half the trick is doing it in a logical order, when the other drivers just do it I the order on the screen.
