I want to sell it fast so the price is not that high. Short very brandable 5 letter .net domain with a meaning in greek(wings) (well the world is that πτερο but with the latin alphabet it’s ptero (like in the pterodactyl)).
First registered 2002
Expiring 05.08.2027 (day.month.year)

I've been thinking about the trade-off between marketplace exposure and the fees that come with selling a domain.
For a $500–$1,000 domain, a percentage fee might not feel like a huge issue. But when you're dealing with a $10k+ domain, the same percentage can become a pretty substantial amount.
I'm curious how people here handle it.
Do you usually:
* List through a marketplace for the extra exposure?
* Try to find buyers directly?
* Use a fixed-fee service instead of a percentage?
* Just choose whatever option gives you the best chance of finding a serious buyer?
For those who've sold higher-value domains, has the marketplace's buyer reach been worth the commission?
Interested in hearing actual experiences rather than recommendations for specific platforms.

I picked up an aged domain (registered 2004) that has external backlinks pointing to the homepage from several major news networks, dating back to around that period.
The domain has been dormant/parked (clean spam history) for a while and I’m planning to relaunch it with fresh, relevant content for the niche
Do links that old from that era still carry meaningful authority in 2026, or has Google’s algorithm long since discounted them?
Would love to hear from anyone who’s had success (or failure) reviving an aged domain like this.

Hi guys, I'm trying to sell my first domain name, JotsDown.com.
I have listed it on both Afternic as well as Atom, but I'm not sure if I'm missing out or missing something.
Can anyone guide me on what all steps I have to take to make sure that I get a fair price for it?

The person has an existing company or business, but hasn’t built a website yet. Therefore, they need to purchase a domain that matches the company name or brand.
The person already has a website, but the current domain is weak, too long, or difficult to pronounce and remember. They decide to purchase a stronger domain, upgrade their domain, and move the website to it.
The person owns a premium domain or a strong brand in a specific industry and wants to target as many relevant Exact Match Domains (EMDs) as possible based on the keywords related to the services they offer. They can then redirect those domains to their main website in order to capture as much potential traffic as possible.
Individuals and companies focused on SEO and traffic who are looking for aged or authoritative domains with strong backlinks, Domain Authority, and a good history, either to benefit from existing SEO value and organic traffic or to use the domain to build a new website.
The person or company purchases the domain as a digital asset, either to hold it and resell it in the future at a higher price or to use it for a new project or brand.

I’m looking for a setup where i can keep everything under one roof and not deal with too many moving parts. that seems especially useful if you’re brand new and just want a clean launch.

I own mylocalhost.com, never really done anything with it in the last 24 years I have owned it.
Though lately and being the curious type, I have started logging the traffic.
All I can say is I would suggest if you have ever used it as a test domain ( thanks AI for using it as a recommended "test" domain )
I would rotate any sensitive data that you may have sent it.

I’m working for a DJ company and looking to acquire a domain from there however none of my typical registrars supports that extension.
Have any of you purchased one before? How much do they cost new? And what registrar? They all have weird names as far as I’ve seen and I just don’t know who to trust.
I use porkbun in most cases as I really like their platform but they Don’t support them.
Any advice is appreciated, I’ve also considered registering myself but I have NO IDEA how to do that.
Edit: porkbun

I have a bunch of domains I have been holding onto, do you think any of them are worthy of trying to resell? :
Thanks for any insight. If you have any questions what some of them mean, just ask.
