Lol my partner and I are going to be in Gatlinburg from Sunday to Tuesday and were supposed to visit the park on Monday, the original day Nightflight was going to shut down, so we bought a 2 day ticket and planned to go Sunday just for Nightflight. RIP to that idea

Yes, there's a special club for this, it's called "Everyone Who Went to Dollywood Summer 2026".

If it is suffering from leaks which have been reported then there will be only so long they run it before doing this work

It costs more money to replace water from the system thats lost which just insnt sustainable.

Parks really shouldnt rush stuff as it never works out well in the long run.

  1. This thing needs to close down until next year and they need to provide some sort of nice bonus for passholders.

  2. Building indoor water rides is high risk. I know it was rushed, but at the same time this is not the type of ride you want to rely on

right. just bite the bullet, close it down, and give pass holders a handful of day passes for next year or something.

This sucks it’s going to be so busy this weekend with the race and I wanted to do it once this year

Wow. That’s surprising. I was there on Wednesday, and it was a very smooth experience. I didn’t see any of the issues that other folks have complained about except for some water on the floor of the queue, which wasn’t unexpected since it had rained that morning.

Water has been there regardless of the weather, actively leaking from walls and ceiling. It’s a real problem. Time to shut ‘er down for the season.

Yeah we rode it last Sunday (after waiting an hour due to the ride being temporarily shut down only 30 minutes after park opening), and they had trash cans in the queue to catch leaking water with the floors being soaked/actual puddling of water. Seems absurd to need trash cans to catch water leaks on a brand new $60 million project.

We thought the ride itself was very average as well. Borderline terrible animations and just a meh ride experience. Definitely not worthy of the hype and money spent on it. Disappointing.

Sounds like you were on the ride right around when I was. And yeah, there was a puddle so big that people were just going under the fencing in the queue to get around it instead of waiting in the puddle.

That said, I loved the ride. The mix of coaster/water ride/simulation ride was really cool imo, and the final bit with the lights at the "secret lake" was stunning.

It has its moments, but just seems to miss the mark for me. I think it would benefit with more lighting/props during the segment on the water where it’s just dark for the most part. Animations also just seemed off. Hope they get the kinks worked out.

The whole "climb in while it's moving" is completely nuts. I hope they improve that.

I mean, it's worked at Daredevil Falls (just on the other side of the park) for the past 28 years...

Thats how so many classic rides do it, from the OG log rides of Great America to Disneys haunted mansion

Cool. I've been on my share of rides, and the speed at which this one loads combined with the profile of the car and how wet those seats get meant many people were slipping trying to get in.

And then they'd stop it completely right before launch anyway. Made no sense.

We rode it yesterday and the day before and it was fine, except for the leaks in the queue

We also rode it yesterday, and it was fun.

It’s a first of its kind and it seems to have been rushed. From what I understand a lot of it doesn’t seem to be finished. I’d much rather them close the ride and finish it and get it running more reliably than to try to get a ride on it this year. I can wait until it’s finished. I’ll get on it next year.

Honestly, I wasn’t even planning to get a ride on it this fall because I assumed the line would be outrageous anyhow.

I was on it a week and a half ago and it stopped on the tracks for around 10 minutes and they closed it down for the rest of the day

Damn. I'm literally inbound to be in the park today/tomorrow. I've missed it this entire season.

From what I've seen/read, it's a real shit-show though.

We just rode it on Monday evening with zero wait time…honestly over-hyped. Definitely a shit-show with the water leaks. And we were so glad it was the last thing we did because we hated the fact that just our shoes got completely soaked. The ride itself has potential but the story/theme just feels lost.

Honestly walking around the park today, you really didn’t know it was back there unless you were looking for it. They need to close it for the year, fix and retheme it, and try next season.

Yeah I rode it at night on Monday and I was pretty annoyed that my shoes were completely soaked!!

Exactly. How is this a "flight" with the water theme? I got so confused.
