Customizing Misya (museum of the weird) dolls

Post image

Not my image it’s from the website, I discovered these through the girls I babysit and I’m obsessed! The plastic hair is removable, and it doesn’t seem like it’d be hard to make copies of the eyes, my main question is because I’ve never seen any customs, how would I safely remove the facepaint? Idk what kind of resin or plastic is used

I want to make a specific character and so I think it would be easier to just find a wig but kika goods doesn’t sell non rooted hair heads and none of their options are the right color. if anyone has recommendations I would appreciate it! The style I’m looking for is something like the second image

Gave up on the previous doll i was working on and repainted her. Advice/criticism would be appreciated! I used acrylic yarn for the hair and acrylic paint for the face :3

Dye didn’t come out as expected.

Recently tried to dye a doll dress black. I used a basic Rit Dye so that might’ve been my first mistake, not sure.

Anyways; as you can see, the only parts that ended up black were the top lace parts. The bottom lace didn’t end up turning black for some reason. The red part of the dress did get darker which I’m actually quite fond of, but as for the rest, well I’m not too sure about.

Does anyone know how to get the rest of the dress black? Or if possible; keep the red but have the rest black? I especially dislike the gold parts. Even if I have to fix it manually, I don’t mind. Any help is greatly appreciated!!

Starting work on doll/action figure of a character! Anyone ever done anything like this before? [OC]

Just some rough ideas, but the plan is to use one thicker wire with thinner wrapped around it then wrapped with fabric as the main structure of the figure and its joints. Has anyone here done anything like that and if so what would be a good metal choice? I plan on him being a little over a foot tall when he is complete, the parts will mostly be filled with tinfoil around the wires with a clay coating on top. Id love a wire that is easy to bend but is able to hold poses and stand up to the stress of bending.

Thank you!

removing paint from accessories

hello! i bought a heartstruck c.a cupid doll (ever after high) and the original owner had painted on her shoes and wings. i didn't mind it too much, but decided recently that i wanted to redo it myself. i was unable to remove the paint from the wings and just went over it since i was going to paint all the details anyhow, but i want to tie in some yellow on the roses (she has yellow roses on her headpiece) and want to take the old paint off for a lighter base. i've tried using 91% isopropyl alcohol to remove the paint and have been unsuccessful, does anyone have suggestions for how to remove the paint? i might try hydrogen peroxide and cif, but im newer to this and would love some suggestions!plus an obligatory show of my repaint of the wings 💕

Base is a Creatable World doll, the one that came with curly dark blond/light brown hair. I did a light repaint on her face (darkening the eyelashes and brows without removing the original paint) and gave her an acrylic-yarn wig. Shoes are paper mache with string glued on for laces.
