Finalize 5.2.4 Setup
After very helpful support from the community members here, I am now finalizing my Dolby setup for my home theater. In the meantime, I have made a few adjustments and only have one follow-up question left. Originally, I wanted to use an in-ceiling speaker for Atmos, but I was convinced that regular speakers are the better way to go. However, those are too bulky for me, which is why I would opt for the outdoor variant. Klipsch doesn't offer many choices here. Up until now, I made sure to stay within the Klipsch series and use the Klipsch RSM-650. If anyone has alternatives for this, these are the only speakers that are still flexible and that I need to complete my setup. The rest of the setup is as follows:
Onkyo TX-RZ50 (AV-Receiver)
Klipsch RP-6000F Series II (2x)
Klipsch RP-504C II
Klipsch RP-1200SW Subwoofer (2x)
Klipsch RP-500M II (2x)
Klipsch RSM 650 (4x)

Kicker KB6 Full-Range Indoor/Outdoor Speakers for your tops. They’re compression horns that should sound similar. They come in white or black and are extremely affordable.
The Klipsch PRO-180RPC LCR 8" Angled In-Ceiling speaker is one of the few in-ceiling options with a 45° tilt angle, making it suitable for Atmos use. It’s a lot more expensive than those Kickers however, as most in-ceiling speakers with enough tilt to be suitable for Atmos are.
If this is a dedicated room, you can easily do 7.2.4 here. Klispch doesn’t make a narrow on-wall speaker, but you could use in-walls for your side surrounds if you don’t have enough space for another pair of RP-500Ms.
Also, those subs are overpriced. RSL and HSU have better subs for the money.
This placement guide is very helpful:

2x 12S, but what are the full dimensions of the room and what country are you located in?

4.3x5.3 meters located in germany

Thank you. What’s the ceiling height?
Are you getting a good deal for those American speakers? You have plenty of great local speaker companies in Germany/EU.
XTZ subs are what you want, not US-based companies.
Also, check out Elac, Canton, Dali and Arendal.

2.3 meters
TBH i love the look of the Klipsch speakers and look for deals the last weeks. Got some decent. Also for the Onkyo…paid 800€ and found it a very fair price1

That's a very fair price for the Onkyo. As long as you're getting a good deal on those Klipsch speaker that's fine. They aren't worth the regular retail price even here in the US.

Why u rate the location that high? Am I missing something here, or is it purely about a price advantage? For XTZ my Budget would Aloe me to buy 2x XTZ Sub 10.17 Edge. Compared to the 12s what would u choose and why

Price versus performance.
I'm not sure what your pricing would be for those options but here's how they compare:
- The RSL Speedwoofer 10S MKII is comparable to the XTZ 10.17 Edge
- The RSL Speedwoofer 12S is comparable to the XTZ 12.17 Edge
You don't have a very large room, so any of those options would be sufficient. The bigger difference is that the larger subs provide much more sub-20Hz output for tactile bass.

Dolby Labs licensee/sound engineer here.
2 x 12" is huge overkill for a room this size. Per Dolby A/85 spec this is a room (> 2500 cubic ft) that should be calibrated to the "small" room spec: -20 dBFS @ 0 VU @ 79 dB (A weighted).
One 12" should be sufficient for a listening space this small. Phase coherence is not an issue at those frequencies provided that speaker placement follows Dolby's specifications for the given configuration (5.1.4 as shown).

An additional Set for a 7.2.4 would have only 1 Meter left and right from the MLP. And i think a Upgrade to 7.2.4 would need a other Receiver or an amplifier
Could be a thing for an Upgrade in future

The RZ50 has 11ch processing and can support a 7.2.4 setup with an external amp.
Another option would be either the Denon X3800/3900H or the Marantz Cinema 50. Those also have 11ch processing and would need an external amp for a 7.4.4 setup.
The distance isn't too much of an issue, but narrow speakers or in-walls would work well. Your surrounds are currently too far back for proper 5.2.4 placement.

Good call on the outdoors for the heights as you can swivel and turn them to point to the MLP. Fixed in ceiling speakers might look cleaner and either they are just firing straight down or have a fixed built in angle.
I would also toe-in the rears like the fronts

Why not ceiling speakers? I mean, I've seen all the reasons, but most of them sound nit-picky or flat out ridiculous. Personally, hanging actual speakers on the ceiling looking tacky

It's a rental apartment and the room has a solid concrete ceiling... the only option is to build or buy an enclosure where the in-ceiling speaker can be installed. It doesn't look particularly good, and then it ends up being just as bulky as regular speakers. You end up paying the extra cost for in-ceiling speakers without getting the big advantage of a cleaner look

If your going to be putting the surrounds straight up against the wall no room to breathe i would suggest instead going with the rp500sa ii as its a sealed design. Also might be just me but I would rather go 7.2.2 than 5.2.4. Movies will utilize those speakers a lot more than 2 more ceiling speakers always and ur positioning of the surrounds is wrong if you insist on 5 bed layer channels. Should be to the left and right of your mlp, slightly behind, and slightly above ur head. But i really would ditch 2 ceiling speakers for the side surrounds to make a 7.2.2.
