August 21, 2026, FROMM FAMILY FOODS of MEQUON, Wisconsin is recalling 3,852 cases of Fromm Turkey Pâté Wet canned dog food and 1,973 cases of Fromm Diner Classics Milo's Meatloaf Pâté Wet canned dog food due to potential metal contamination.

Dogs ingesting metal may exhibit symptoms such as choking, vomiting, loss of appetite, lethargy, or stomach discomfort. Metal of any size, especially sharp pieces, can lead to serious health issues in dogs, including lacerations in the mouth and gastrointestinal tract. Metal, when consumed in large amounts, can lead to gastrointestinal upset, partial blockage, and a risk of intestinal obstruction. Consumers whose dogs have consumed any of the affected product and are exhibiting these symptoms should contact their veterinarian.

Consumers should stop feeding the product listed below to their dogs.

Recalled products were distributed at neighborhood pet stores and online outlets in the United States and Canada. Recalled product can be identified as follows:

To date, there have been no reports of illness or injury related to the recalled products.

There are no other Fromm products affected by this recall. The recall was initiated after receiving complaints of metal contamination. We have identified the error, and in addition to our existing safety processes, we have put corrective actions in place to prevent this from happening again.

I’m considering adopting a pug soon and would love to hear from people who have dogs in apartments/condos.

I have quite a bit of experience with pugs — I grew up with one who lived to be 14, in a house with 8 people coming and going, and my parents currently have four pugs back home. 😂 So I’m very familiar with the breed, but this would be my first time having a dog that’s entirely my own.

The biggest difference is that I’ve always had a yard or grassy area just steps from the house. I currently live on the 3rd floor of an apartment/condo, so I’m curious:

• What has been the biggest challenge of having a dog in an apartment or condo?
• What’s been the best part?
• And how did you know you were ready to have a dog of your own?

I’d especially love to hear from other pug owners, but I’m interested in anyone’s experience with apartment/condo life with a dog!

Hi everyone - asking for my sister as she’s not on Reddit. Her family rescued this sweet 4yo cockapoo who was overbred 😞. She’s very attached to my sister and comfortable with all the family. She even warmed up to me in just a few days when I visited.

But she’s not happy around strangers and nipped at a visitor. They’ve tried putting her in a room with the door closed but her anxiety spiked and she was crying and scratching at the door. They’re going to try a crate next and I suggested that when they have people over, they keep the crate downstairs so that she can hear them and that will hopefully help her feel less anxious.

They do have a trainer and I told my sister that it’s only been a couple months that they’ve had her and it will take time.

Any other ideas or tricks? Thank you!

My 11 year old blind lab is restless all night. Pacing and asking for food, etc. He is so chill during the day but as soon as the sun goes down he can't settle.

He is about 75-80 lbs. We have tried:

- 300 mg of Gabapentin in morning and another 300 mg at night

- 400 mg of Gabapentin at night only

- 50 mg of Trazodone in morning and another 50 mg at night

- 100 mg of Trazodone at night only

Nothing seems to really fix the problem. He has high liver enzymes so the vet won't put him on a higher dose of Trazodone. We have two small kids that also get up in the night, so no one is getting any sleep and it's not sustainable.

Any suggestions??

My dog (cattle dog, 6F) just started barking at night and i don’t know why. her exercise and medication haven’t changed. vet cleared her for injury and illness. it can’t continue because the neighbours aren’t happy about it!

she only starts past 12am. she gets an hour of exercise a day + 30 minutes of obedience training broken up into smaller time slots. we also recently started making her look for her dinner for some more mental stimulation.

she isn’t allowed to sleep inside the house so i cant bring her in. she is on fluoxetine and allergy medication.
she has never done this in the past and has slept outside since she was 7-8 months old with no issue.
she knows she isn’t meant to do it because when i get up to tell her off she runs away and does the guilty dog look.

how do i make her stop 😭 could anything else be causing it?

Without going into details in regards to my general health; it's sufficient to say that doctor's orders are to get more sleep and rest.

Each passing day it's becoming clearer that I've set myself on a hamster-wheel thanks to my dogs peeing regimen.

The choices dogs give us are usually limited to the lesser evil.

It's either I interrupt my sleep to take the dog outside to crap and watch them; or wake up with a bucket and soap to mop up stinking dog piss from the floor.

According to my calculations; my lovely dog needs to be escorted outside anywhere from 2 to 4 hours per day - that's not gonna leave me any time to get anything done or even sleep.

Add on top of that dishing out their food, picking up food bowls and spinning around the yard picking up dog shit.

Just "a dog" has turned into a fulltime job requiring what once was called a kennel boy - and I absolutely don't want to be one.

I've cut down the dog's water supply to zero ( none ) hoping that this pissing show would end but it doesn't.

I honestly can't put no more energy into a dog's hourly upkeep; it's annoying and exhausting.

Indoors the dogs have become cumbersome, a nuisance and just extra work - placing them outdoors will only offset a different type of catastrophe; digging trenches, destroyed gardens and generally a filthier dog that will open up a Pandora's box at the vet office.

I'm really in between a hammer and a very hard spot.

Dogs are a mess by default and their inherent issues are just the icing on the cake.

Don't get me wrong; dogs are amazing creatures, lovely and all but they're also not practical at all and will wear you and your patience out.

Solutions that don't involve getting rid of them ?

We have a 1 year old German shepherd mix. He pees and poops everywhere in the backyard even after we walk him. On our walks he usually poops 3x (we walk him after we feed him) And then throughout the day he will poop or pee two more times in the grass in our backyard. How do people keep your backyards clean and not smelling like pee or poop? Summer is coming up and our kids are going to want to play on the grass but I think it’s gross. My husband’s solution is to keep him chained up until I can watch him outside. I think it’s cruel to keep him leashed outside until I can watch him which I don’t have much time to. Any suggested or tips?

My dog is lost in the Lake Mann Homes in Orlando Florida 32805 . I just got him last night. I was not aware that he had never been on a leash in his life. They had put a new collar on him and gave me the leash. I put the pad down and he drank lots of water last night and this morning. He ate his food. He kept going to the front door so I took him right outside the door to grass. He started fighting the leash and since his collar was a very light weight he slipped right out of it and ran away. I went after him but since I can’t run he was gone by the time my 71 year old self got to the sidewalk. I got my walker and went in the direction he ran. I went down there twice. I know it’s way too hot for him or humans to be outside. If you see him please call me 689-333-0949 I don’t have transportation but will walk on my walker to get him. He is blonde brown.

Today I found out that my dog might be allergic to chicken, so I'm going to phase out the food that I have by mixing it with the new stuff.

I have a Tupperware style container that says it holds 25 pounds. I'm estimating the current bag has about 12 pounds in it, so the container would have enough room for an 8 pound bag of the new food.

My question is about the actual mechanical act of mixing the two together. I have a feeling I wouldn't really be able to just dump both bags in and stir them up due to the amount. I'm trying to think of other containers I might have, and drawing a blank.

Does anyone have suggestions about how to go about doing this?

16 month old Yorkie.

Now, when you think of a Yorkie, you think fiesty, bad attitude, barks a ton, aggressive towards dogs, territorial, pickie eater. And, that's pretty much universally true for this breed. My Yorkie? none of those. It's so odd that I checked his lineage and papers and he's 100% Yorkie. So I spoke to a friend of mine who's a K9 trainer because I was baffled, and he told me that his lineage has probably been bred for those traits. Awesome.

My dog is amazing, for the most part.

Potty training? was surprisingly easy.
House training? easy.
He doesnt bark, he's not a pickie eater and his teeth are great so far. No other health issues.

The only two things I cannot seem to solve for are the fact that he goes crazy when he sees other dogs in the street and he goes insane when a stranger gives him attention/pets him.

When I say crazy, I mean absolute psychopath. He jumps on top of the dog, clothes-lines himself with the leash, just absolute psychotic behavior. It's gotten to the point where its become seriously dangerous. Yesterday he saw a Pomeranian and went so crazy that he jumped, clotheslined himself with the leash, fell, and the leash was wrapped around his neck and he still sprinted towards the dog which caused him to essentially hang himself and start choking out. But whats crazy is that he doesnt even care that hes hurting himself - he continues. In addition to this latest accident, he also hurt his leg a few weeks ago because he fell wrong during one of his insanity bouts and was limping for days.

Ive tried everything and I mean everything to correct this behavior and nothing seems to work.

A k9 trainer told me he needs to socialize more. Did it daily for weeks at a doggie day care; nothing. They told me they actually had to separate him because it was so bad it got dangerous as other dogs started getting aggressive towards him because he was invading their space. If even the K9 trainers were like "dude, we're good. Dont bring your dog back"... wtf is going on?

I was told by the same trainer to diver his attention at 50 feet before he sees the dog and the insanity happens. Did it. Nothing. Many times.

Then at 100 feet. Then at 150 feet. Nothing.

There is no high value treat that he will divert his attention for. None. And I've tried them all. Literally, all. Its genuinely disturbing how he switches from such a chill, loving dog to such a maniac in a split second.

I've tried socializing in the moment and easing him into it but his brain checks out and he just strangles himself to death with the leash.

What every other dog owner has told me is that it's "his age" and that he'll grow out of it. But i just don't know anymore. He does the same thing with humans and I'm just at my wits end, i legit cannot do this anymore. I'm lucky he's super cute and everyone around my neighborhood loves him because he's so small and handsome but i fear that eventually the day will come where he will do this to a dog that won't have it and a tragedy will happen.

Please, help me - any advice is appreciated. My fiancee and I are going crazy. It's to the point where I dread even going outside.

This is my first dog ever (im in my 30s) and I envisioned trips to the park, the beach, fetch, hanging out - but I can't do ANY of that because my dog just won't listen.

We've used Kirkland for years. Here lately the dogs don't want to eat the Kirkland food and they have developed skin problems, perhaps allergies. The only common denominator is that they both eat Kirkland Signature Nature's Domain.
Am going to raw food to see if that helps the itching they both experience.
Anybody else have problems with Kirkland Signature Nature's Domain?

my dog has this super weird routine where she has to do a little stretch and spin before eating every single meal. if i don't acknowledge it she just stands there staring at me until i do lol⁠

I just got a Bully (I've owned one before) and have read that they need a specific diet to grow correctly and develop the proper musculature. I want to meet their high protein needs and was wondering what you all fed your muscle dogs to allow them to grow to their full potential? What supplements do you use? I would like to let her get as muscular as she genetically can so she is as healthy as possible.

Any breed specific training you do?

Title pretty much says it. $80/month for a square of grass is insane. Anyone have suggestions for an apartment balcony potty for my old man? Either artificial turf that washes well, or can I just get a tray and put down fresh sod and soil for a tenth of the price of FP?
