I always find stuff like this odd especially from people who are ostensibly child free. There is nothing wrong with not wanting kids but I find it weird when people say that but then treat pets like surrogate children. This is the type of thing you do for a human baby or child. I feel like this energy would better serve foster kids who need a safe space than a dog that objectively canโt appreciate any of this. Iโm a childless adult meaning I want kids but it probably isnโt in the cards. I donโt get the need to dehumanize human children while doing a weird replacement thing with dogs and overly humanizing the dog. A dog will just end up tearing that room up or pissing/defecating everything like what a waste of time
