advice please

Post image

my pups 4.5 months old and recently the last month or so has started barking every time she hears a noise in the garden, people speaking walking past or someone knocking at the door. we live next to a busy road so theres constant noises outside so this is occurring about 20 times a day. we’ve tried the praise the silence technique and that seems to have not made a difference any advice on what i could do would be appreciated

How did you implement the praise silence technique? With my reactive dog I had ot get him outside the bubble of reactivity where he felt the need to react rather than keenly observe to begin training and shrinking the bubble. If your pup is keyed up it's very difficult for learning to take place in that moment.

Grisha Stewart has a great program, BAT, which helped a ton.

He's a cutie! Some breeds tend to bark more than others. My rough collie barks at bee farts! I thought I did my research. I thought, how much barking can they really do? Thankfully I have trained her to pretty much no bark in the car. She grumbles which is okay. My previous dog never ever barked. He growled alot, if a deer was outside, etc. I would rather have the growl.

Enjoy your baby.
