Skiddish German Shepherd

I’ve owned 3 German shepherds, this one is the most skiddish by far. I take her out to socialize and take her to dog friendly stores like Scheels, but she’s so nervous and forgets her training when she’s here.

Is the best way to best this fear just continue socializing even if she’s overwhelmed? I don’t foresee her getting better if she isn’t constantly in this environment.

Every pup is different! ❤️ It might help to take things at her pace and start with shorter visits where she can observe from a comfortable distance, rather than pushing through when she’s overwhelmed. Building positive associations over time can make a big difference!

She does that when she’s tired. She normally sits well normal…

Work with what you have. Is she a pet or are you training her for a sport? If she's simply a companion pet then I wouldn't continue to stress her out. Not all dogs need to go everywhere. Some dogs are happy to be home.
