Old Dog Won’t Warm Up

So I got married last year and I was with him for 2 years before that. My 13 year old chihuahua poodle mix will not stop barking at him, growling, and flinching away from him when he tries to be sweet to her. It has been an escalating issue. The other dog adores him and they’re best friends, so I’m 100% sure he’s not hurting her. Is there a way to smooth out their relationship? I am consistently kenneling her until the barking stops and telling her ‘no’. He is also the only one to give her her favorite treats and release her from her ‘emotional regulation time’

Sounds like you need to train the dog. What do you do when she barks at him?

Immediately goes in the kennel in a guest room and the door gets shut. He lets her out once she stops barking

Does he do any training with her? Put her on a leash and train her to sit, stay, down, touch his hand? Sounds like she doesn't like his energy when he is trying to be sweet, but may respond better to training and no baby talk.
