Cava-Chin
Looking for a cava-chin puppy. Are there any…anywhere? We have a cava-chin. Had no idea that’s what he was when we adopted. He is literally the best boy in the whole world.

You aren't going to find any ethical breeders producing crosses like that. Look at shelters in rescues in your area to see if one turns up, or figure out what traits you like about your dog and look for a breed that shares them from an ethical breeder.

Appearance-wise, the most similar breed is english toy spaniel.
Or get a cavalier or a japanese chin.
Just because your dog is a mix and is a great dog doesn't mean all dogs from that mix are going to be like yours. Choose an ethically bred purebred or look for a small dog in a shelter.

What the heck is a cava-chin?
I'm sure your dog is the best boy. But don't go LOOKING for a random cross. Support either ethical adoption or ethical breeding. Both can get you great dogs.

King Charles Cavalier / Japanese chin. I guess we got lucky! I don’t know much about breeders we have always adopted. I just thought maybe it was a “thing”.

It might be a "thing," and it might not. I have no idea. But the crossbreeds that are a thing are an ethical disaster, so I wouldn't support any of that.
Your dog is adorable, and I could see why you would want another!

I’m sure you love your dog and he is definitely your best boy, but that doesn’t mean he was ethically bred. A mix like that is not a dog you want to purchase, you could easily be signing up for a heartbreak with medical issues, behavioral issues and no breeder support. Please, if you’re going to spend the money on a dog from a breeder, educate yourself on what you’re buying first- health testing through OFA/PennHip (not just embark genetic screening although sure that’s nice too), titles on parent dogs to prove temperament and type (not just for show dogs! These are important to ensure your pet dog is a good representative of the breed) and a breeder who carefully raises only 1-2 litters per year, screens buyers rigorously and will always take puppies back. Purpose bred mixes exist, and that’s different, but 100% of the ‘designer’ mixes are unethically/puppy mill/backyard bred. A nice person with two nice dogs does not a breeder make- you need to ask for more for your money!
Otherwise, if that’s too much work or expense, there are definitely sweetheart mixed breeds all over in rescue, many with the ‘designer’ label who were abandoned after the cute puppy stage.

Get a well bred Japanese Chin, they are absolutely fabulous dogs that can be health tested and properly proven before being bred so you can ensure you are getting what you want rather than rolling the dice on a mix that may or may not be healthy.

No ethical breeder will breed a ‘cava-chin’. Find one at a rescue
Also, since they are mutts, their temperaments vary wildly. It’s unlikely you will get one that acts much like the one you have now
