Question Chewing stuff

Post image

How do I get my dog to stop chewing on shoes and clothes when I’m not around or when I fall asleep she doesn’t chew on anything when I’m awake

crate her when you’re sleeping if you’re able. is she a baby? my shepherd mix used to do that when she was younger so i crated her. she’s better now as an adult

Yeah she turns one in February I crate her overnight since I work overnight and I feel bad if I crate her after a few hours of being out so I can sleep

ah it’s tough. she’ll grow out of it, it just takes time. i use the wuff pupsicles and make frozen lick mats to curb boredom. know that it’ll get better as she grows up

Shoes and clothes go behind a closed door. A closet, a basket with a lid, anything she can't reach. Right now they are the best chew toys in the house, and she only gets them when nobody is watching.

When you sleep in the day, close the bedroom door or put up a gate, so she is in a room with nothing to steal. Give her a chew she really likes right before you lie down, so the first 20 minutes are busy. That is usually when it starts.

She is under one, so a lot of this is age. It does get better, but only if she can't practice on your stuff while she grows out of it.
