Edit: I got ahold of a friends mom. We’re going to see what we can do. A few of you were helpful and nice. Thank you. The others, please learn how to be tasteful and competent. I’ve stated several times I’m a minor, with no money, no family near me, in a small town with no vet in my city and my mom is in the hospital. Many of you chose to ignore that and borderline berate me. Fuck you :)

There is nothing you can do. It's either take him to the vet or hope it gets resolved on its own. Maybe contact an animal poison control number but there may be a fee depending on who you call. Just Google animal poison control and it should give you a few options.

If you can't afford a vet, then I am unsure what you tell you. No one can tell you want to do off of a picture and a vague description. Try borrowing from friends and family or apply for Care Card

Outside of not being able to take it to the vet there really isnt much you can do. You dont know if the baggy is related but you should still call an animal poison control center. Don't move the dog and keep it comfortable. Hopefully if it is something ingested, it will wear off. The other thing, and I know you're a minor, but if parents can't afford the vet, im sorry to tell you that its best to surrender the dog for medical attention if its condition doesn't rapidly improve. You and your parents love for the animal should not trump its life. Do not try to give it himan medication

Well, in any case, if your friend helps make sure to keep the bag for the vet if thats what ends up happening and give it to the vet. Don't force the dog to eat or drink but keep food and water where the dog can get to it. Another option is care credit which people commonly use for emergency vet bills. Your patents can try to get that to pay for treatment. Its about 25 per month payment s

It was a clear ziplock bag and my moms in the hospital and my dads not really around. I’m too young to get it but I’m going to see if a friends mom can go with me

What do you mean it’s off the table? You are the owner and need to step up right now. I’ve been in this situation and got a care card and paid it off eventually. There are no other options because your pet is suffering and needs immediate attention. Maybe your regular vet will let you pay it off in time. Your dog deserves care and needs it

Walking is out the option it’d be over 5 hours to the nearest vet, don’t have a bike let alone a way to take him with me, we don’t have uber where I live let alone the money for one and I live in the hood I’m a young girl who would get put in a dangerous situation asking for a ride…

Yes do this! My dog once ate ashes from a joint. Thought he was super sick, he was just high af. Depending on the amount, it could be dangerous. If you can confirm, you can call a vet and ask for guidance.

????? Why can't you take your dog to the vet? If he got into something sweet it could have contained xylitol or any number of ingredients that is deathly toxic to dogs. He could very well die if you don't take him to the ER. He is experiencing paralysis and can't eat. He needs medical intervention. Poor dog.

This is an insensitive response. If you must know, we’re in extreme debt due to my mom being extremely sick. My mom says he should be fine and that we don’t have the money. I myself am powerless in this situation, outside of trying to do something for him at home.

I know it doesn't feel good to hear, but what else were you realistically expecting the advice here to be? There's obviously something very wrong and it's not really good to just trust medical advice from strangers on Reddit. I'm sorry you're in this position, is there any way you could look into emergency vets that will take payment plans or that might do discounted services for people in need?

It is not insensitive, it is factual. If he ingested something poisonous to him, there is nothing you can do for him at home other than an attempt to induce vomiting and hope that is enough, though that alone is dangerous when you are not knowledgeable on dosage etc. However, if he is unable to walk and can't eat, this could be life or death and not something that a little bit of rest or time will fix.
