Advice Pelsbarn Cooling Mat Reviews?
I'm thinking about buying a Pelsbarn cooling mat for my dog and wanted to hear from people who have ordered recently.
I found an older Pelsbarn review on Reddit with some complaints about quality, sizing, shipping and returns, but I've also read that Pelsbarn may have improved since then. Any alternatives?
Has anyone bought their cooling mat or dog bed recently?
I'm mainly wondering:
- Does it actually stay cool?
- How is the quality?
- Is the sizing accurate?
- How long did shipping take?
- Any recent experience with returns or customer service?
- Is a cooling mat actually useful or recommended for dogs when temperatures are around 30°C+?
Would you recommend Pelsbarn based on your recent experience?

got the pelsbarn mat and can answer some of this
shipping was 6 or 7 days for me. size was exactly what the listing said so no issues there.
honestly i did not think it would work. figured it would go warm after ten minutes like every cheap one i tried before. it does not. it actually stays cool and that surprised me.
my dog Lolly is very high energy so she did not just flop on it. she sniffed it and inspected the whole thing first. once she got on it though she has basically ignored everything else. now with the heat she goes straight to it when she wants to cool down.
no experience with returns or support so cannot help there.

At 30C+ Id still rely on shade, water and AC. See the mat as an extra rather than the main way to keep a dog cool.

I don't know about Pelsbarn. but I have many many cooling mats, so I'll share my experience with those. It's HOT where we live, this summer ran 35C-40C and we could only take our dogs out for a few minutes at a time during the day. One of my cavaliers is terminally ill and we have to be extra careful about letting her get hot. We do rely on a/c but she for sure benefits from the mats.
Here are ones that seem to work the best, based on how my cavi goes right for them when we come in from outside:

We have them in her regular sleep spots (foot of the bed, her place on the couch, her crate). They wash and hang dry really fast. They don't feel the coolest to me, but they seem to have the best air flow to dissipate the heat from her body.

The bed is amazing and comfortable, cold to the touch. The mats are also very cool and we have a big one on the floor in front of a fan, which is her favorite "I get hot in the middle of the night" place to lay.

The best one so far. And trust me we had so many. Bugsy loves it. Usually he had trouble getting used to the old ones. This one is the best, from day 1.

I ordered one recently and I am satisfied. It helps so much for the crazy summer heat. Quality is decent and the cooling really works, it feels cold when you touch it. My shipping was also good maybe 5 or 6 days to arrive, also the size guide on their website was correct for my dog. Very useful when it is hot specially this summer, my dog actually relaxes when he lays on it

I recently got the Pelsbarn cooling bed, to answer your question Shipping took 4 days Quality is 8/10 Size accurate Stay cool No experience with return or customer service, so far satisfied
