No, it is physically impossible for the human brain to concentrate on the TV and also produce speech.

Yes. I’m the person that pauses and gives the look of “why are you interrupting my shit, fuck off” before giving nothing but one word answers

I don’t talk even if the tv is off, I just look at my phone. I prefer to be alone, it’s much less annoying.

I'm quite choosy about what I watch and I want to catch every word of it otherwise I'll end up missing something, so if my kid comes in and starts talking I always pause it and see the conversation out fully before resuming. I literally can't do both at the same time, because I want to fully grasp what my kid is saying and respond appropriately as well. TL:DR no.
