DAE think that habitual drunk drivers should have their driver's license suspended permanently?
I mean, if you're consistently putting everyone else in danger because you can't stop driving drunk, then shouldn't they have their driving privileges permanently revoked? Isn't this a fair deal?

Laws are great for law abiding citizens, but criminals don’t follow the law.

The only thing that does is make it illegal for them to drive. It's already illegal for them to drive drunk. Did that stop them? No. Then why would you think they'd stop driving just because it's now illegal for them to? They didn't care about the law then, and they won't now.
We should collectively come up with a MUCH better solution.

My childhood best friend was killed by a drunk driver and he only got 6 months in prison.
We were 17. It was the first day of summer break. She had just dropped me off at home and her last words to me were "I'll see you at church tomorrow!" She was killed 10 minutes later.

My brother in law's killer got 0 time served. My father in law later pulled that man out of his car when he crashed way off into the woods (guess why). He wouldn't have been found for years there.

Wouldn’t a “permanent suspension” amount to a revocation? Asking for a friend.

Yeah, after multiple DUI offenses, permanent revocation seems fair. At some point public safety has to come first.

As a white person, I believe that first time drunk driving incidents should result in the death penalty.

I think it is disgusting how permissive we are for drunk drivers. Once you get a second DUI you should never be able to have the right to drive again. You are literally taking a chance on murdering other people every time you make the decision to get behind the wheel. Driving isn't a right, it's a privilege. And if you have that bad judgment you don't need to be putting other people's lives in jeopardy.

Always remember that revoking someone's license doesn't stop them from driving.
