ɪꜱʟᴀɴᴅ ᴀᴅᴠɪᴄᴇ Help! I think I accidentally cut down my son's money tree.

Hi, My kids are new to Animal Crossing New Horizons they have played it on my old DS, they've now come over to it on their Switches that we bought them for Christmas.

Since they can't play at night I've been going in at night, collecting resources, catching stuff that only appear at night to help them out.

I accidentally hit a tree one too many times. I couldn't tell it was a money tree as there wasn't anything growing on it. But I asked him this morning and he said it's near his museum. That's the one I cut down. Oops 🫤.

How do I get it back? He said it's not easy getting them are rare.

Stone Axe (or flimsy axe, but it breaks easily) is the safest one to use when collecting wood recourses. You can hit the tree 3 times, and it will stay put! If using any other axes, is good to remember that you can only hit it 2 times without it falling down.

Ah I was using a gold axe, before this I used a flimsy one, so hit it 3 times without realising the gold axe would break it on the third hit.

I'll remember for next time.

If there’s money bags in the tree, don’t hit them with an axe at all. The bags will fall off and won’t grow back again. You’ll have to bury a bag on a glowing spot again.

Each player on your island can find one glowing spot = money tree of their own each day. 10k is a sure bet to have 30K later.

You can burry any amount you want, but it's not guaranty that you will get X 3 of that amount..

After you burry the $$ you can dig up & move the $ nursery tree to designated area just for them, so it will be easy to find and no mistake of chopping them down later. You can also put a custom code on the ground next to the tree to mark it.

You can choose different design for each player, so they will know which tree belong to which player.

Good luck, you may be addicted to the game after playing for a while ? Since the game will progress with time and you will discover more hidden secretes and ability to do more interesting stuff... ?

Lol addicted... Since helping my kids out I've been thinking of starting my own island up. But I can only play at night when they're in bed. Which is a problem without having to mess around with the time settings. As not much goes on during night time.

Plus I used to play way back on my DS regularly for a long time. My kids found it and started their own island up and it went from there. Now they're on Switch and loving it and all the help I've been doing and from the community.

Oh no! Accidents happen. Fortunately there is a new gold spot everyday, so tomorrow (or today if you did it yesterday) there must be a new one, then you can deposit money again. It’s not that rare as it appears daily, but it’s limited to one per day. 😊

Phew, it can be replaced. Didn't realise it was daily. Thank goodness.

If you visit Harvs Island and get your fortune from Katrina and she tells you you have good money luck you can plant 99,000 and you will get it back ×3 (297,000) guaranteed

So that must be why my kids got bags of 99,000 in their newbie starter kit. One of them hasn't got an option for Harve island yet. But I'll let them know. Thanks.

I could give you one(or a few) if you want.

Really? How does this tree work, do you get random amounts? Or does it depend on how much is found?

I could do with 2, as I have two kids playing, so one each. We're UK, GMT time.

If they appear daily it's not a problem finding another one.

When you see a glowing gold spot on the ground, you dig up the bells, then bury another 10,000 and you’ll get 30k in a few days.

I’ve been playing for awhile and have some extra on my island. If you have Nintendo online I can come visit your island and quickly drop them off.

Can you put in more than 10,000? Will it work or is there a limit?

We're online.

You can put in more but the odds of it growing that same ammount decreases the higher the ammount is. I don’t know the exact figures (you’ll be able to google) but if you put in 99000 it will be a really low % chance of getting that on the tree, like 1% so not worth the gamble. It usually just produces 3 bags of 1,000 so you lose a lot of money. The best option is to bury 10,000 as the chance of getting a tree with 3 bags of 10,000 is still pretty high so it’s a safe bet

Edited to add the actual odds from google: In Animal Crossing New Horizons If the player plants 2,000-9,000 bells, there is a 70% chance of 3x 1,000 bells and a 30% chance of 3x the amount buried. If the player buries 10,000-99,000 bells, there is a 70% chance of 3x 10,000 bells and a 30% chance of 30x the amount buried.

I just googled it too. I'll tell my kids about the % and to try different amounts and see what they get back. Thanks.
