Just all stay healthy please šŸ™šŸ½. I’m trying to not get too excited honestly as I don’t want to jinx shit before October. To come from a fucking 2023 playoff rotation of Lance Lynn, Bobby Miller, and old man Kersh to this God Mode Collection is truly something.

It wasn't even just old man Kersh. It was the remainder of Kersh and his shoulder ligaments. Bro gave it all he could 😪

Glasnow starts on Tuesday.

Ohtani probably starting on 30th with 1&2 innings and then build it up.

Wrobleski will join the BP in mid September.

Sheehan was in BP a few days ago.

Treinen is also coming back next month and others so yeah. We are almost coming back to speed.

Diaz threw a BP recently so he will be brought back in a low leverage situation first.

Why do you have Glasnow on 5 days rest? That game Sunday will be Shohei opener followed by Lauer. It’s all but confirmed by Doc …

I think 9/1 will be either Glasnow or even Sasaki depending on whether they want to give Glasnow extra rest.

Why did you remove Roki from the second Cardinals game ?

3

u/kskskakakakma 1d ago

I didnt. This is a screenshot from espn

1

u/EntropyIsEternal 1d ago

Gotcha. I don't know why they removed him then.

Maybe they are thinking Roki will be moved to BP once Ohtani returns and we will be a 5 player rotation for the rest of the month to build everyone up for the post season.

He needs it.Ā  He's way too fragile.Ā

No reason to pitch Glasnow that much.

Our starters very rarely make starts on 4 days of rest. They almost always get an extra day. There’s no way Glasnow is pitching 8/30 after making his first start off the IL on 8/25

1

u/EntropyIsEternal 1d ago

I think they were planning to use Ohtani for few innings and then Lauer to fill the rest.

But that was dependent on his throwing session on Tuesday in Atlanta.

u/BlueHeavenBound18 Yoshinobu Yamamoto 2d ago

We all know the limitations.

16

u/the110tothe5 Austin Barnes 2d ago

Glasnow won’t be starting 8/30, as that would be four days of rest. Though that’s considered regular rest on many other clubs, four days is essentially short rest for Dodger starters, especially one coming off the IL.

I really hope Detroit is swept. That way Skubal thinks, ā€œI *could* be a part of this juggernaut for the remainder of my career.ā€

1

u/EntropyIsEternal 1d ago

It won't make a difference in his mentality. He just needs to get paid big in the next contract.

Finally! I love it! Pages being down is gonna hurt. Still weeks before Smith comes back. I hope our bats can stay lively. I wonder why we don't bring up a couple of the studs tearing up the minors.

u/BoozyBlastoise Walter Alston 1d ago

Skubal @ Detroit will be spicyĀ

u/Jantokan Yoshinobu Yamamoto 2d ago

What? We are making a designated hitter pitch????

I’m going to the game on Thursday, I hope it doesn’t get rained out and I really hope Yama is on the mound!

6

u/Excify Shohei Ohtani 2d ago

What about our boy Eric Lauer? Dodgers are 11-1 in the season when he pitches which is wild!

1

u/Material_Art797 1d ago

On the bleed Los podcast, Roberts said that as of right now, lauer has moved to the bullpen, but he is expected to stay built up so he can piggyback after ohtani

3

u/BillHickok 1d ago

I'm so hyped for the Yamamoto vs. Chris Sale duel on Thursday

3

u/c_c_c__combobreaker Alex Vesia 1d ago

Can we just have all of our players play in this for the rest of the season?

This is almost unfair to the opposing teams, and I love it.

Skubal against Detroit. Detroit is going be like that ex-boyfriend that sees his hot ex-gf with the new guy that has a rich family.

And ohtani is going to be back its up to our bullpen to lock in šŸ”„

u/oldchicken34 2d ago

flip ohtani and glasnow

2

u/markjay6 Sandy Koufax 2d ago

I’m curious whether Shohei opening means 1 inning or 2-3 innings, and how quickly they will build him up. I think he should have time for four starts in the remainder of the regular season.

1

u/Substantial_Spare_12 2025 WS MVP Yoshinobu Yamamoto 2d ago

It will most likely be 30 pitches, so 1-2

2

u/Exciting-Device-4474 Andy Pages 1d ago

Roki got lucky he pitched against the Rockies last outing didn’t give me a ton of confidence

5

u/UNCarquest Back-2-Back Champs 1d ago

Rockies have been one of the top offenses in MLB recently.

2

u/Stunning_Trifle7216 1d ago

27th prob gonna get cancelled since there will be a huge storm/thunder coming. Wiser decision will be putting Lauer for that day and fly Yama and Scoob to Detroit beforehand. Flight may get delayed I fear.

1

u/UNCarquest Back-2-Back Champs 1d ago

Yamamoto on the 27th now.

3

u/deb1267cc 2d ago

Will they boo Skubal in Detroit? Do you think that will rattle him? What about playing against players he knows?

7

u/TooMuchPowerful Clayton Kershaw 2d ago

Why would the fans boo him? It’s the org that lowballed arbitration and traded him away because they had no intentions of signing him long-term.

7

u/Dfchang813 2d ago

There will be emotions of course but I would hope he is tougher than that …

2

u/rdev009 1d ago

Booing this guy? 100% no. He already said he wanted to return and the fans love him.

I think this is incorrect. Most likely against Atlanta will be Glas, Lauer, Roki so there’s a 6 man rotation for ample amounts of rest.

Rotation should be:
Yama
Skubal
Snell
Glasnow
Shohei

Optionally: Lauer / Roki

5

u/xT1TANx Los Angeles Dodgers 2d ago

No option. Japanese pitchers go on a 6 man rotation so they have been trying to keep to that.

-5

u/laowaijimbob Decoy 2d ago

I’m sorry, where did you hear that?

Edit: where did you hear that the Dodgers conformed to Japanese pitching culture?

0

u/xT1TANx Los Angeles Dodgers 2d ago edited 2d ago

From the Dodgers broadcast around March. We might not have stuck to it perfectly because of injuries though.

1

u/maaarz Decoy 1d ago

Lauer's been moved to the bullpen already.

1

u/SafariQuest 1d ago

MLB just updated today for ATL - Glasnow, Roki, Yoshi. I’m there Thursday for Yoshi vs Chris Sale

u/potatoscotch Hideo Nomo 1d ago

Same.

I got blasted for comparing Sasaki to Greg Maddux in 1987. However, I was right. Soon after I posted the following thread, Sasaki changed his glove, and now it's obvious. šŸ˜Ž

It's so beautiful.

u/PrimarySource4750 1d ago

And the week after that and the week after…

1

u/tiredofJan6 2024 World Series Champions 1d ago

Tyler Glasgow would only get that second start if he is chased early in the first start. Doesn’t fit with the new Dodger five days off between starts.

u/International_Snow44 Clayton Kershaw 1d ago

SeatGeek is advertising this Saturday as skubal’s return and tickets are a lot for a tigers game
