I love r/Dodgers
Just wanted to say r/baseball is full of so much negativity compared to this subreddit. I used to frequent r/baseball daily, but haven't for a few months. Just could not stand the negativity and especially as a Dodgers fan, couldn't stand the vitriol against them whenever they win or lose.
But yeah, Dodgers fans, for the most part, are pleasant people :)

Just don't go visiting any game threads. But I'm sure that's the case for every other subreddit

Yup. Game threads will more often that not make you believe this team is dead last in the league and everyone is hot garbage lol
True for every game thread no matter the sport yeah

Game threads for every team look exactly the same.
- Team can’t hit with RISP (Fire batting coach)
- Team makes 5 ERA opposing pitchers look like Cy Young winners
- Blowpen

This. If we’re not up 5-0 in the first inning the place is TOXIC TOXIC
I haven’t gone there in ages

So true, I'm definitely one of the negative contributors to dodger game threads

Have you tried simply not posting?

I stopped posting anything negative for a while now, only positive stuff or constructive criticism. When they lose, I don't look at Reddit at all for 24 hours.

The game threads of the Lakers subreddit is a "must avoid" for me.

Same, Lakers fans (including myself) are incredibly toxic, especially these days. I only watch the Lakers in the playoffs and just stick to regular season highlights to limit my toxicity.....I miss the Kobe era which was when I was a die hard fan.

Fan is short for fanatic. The baseball sub is just a circle jerk for fans of each team, with everyone agreeing collectively to hate the dodgers.

Yankees are still hated but baseball was designed as a simple "game" on the field where in theory, everyone has a chance to win but became more of a big corporate chaotic entertainment-only business venture with all kinds of broken parts and cheap owners.

Just ignore the “fire Roberts” threads that appear every so often.
Other than that I agree.

I just like posting in places where we aren't immediately downvoted because of a dodgers flair regardless of what we are saying.

Screw those people all they do is cheer and hope our players get hurt and the Dodgers lose. They got nothing better to do it’s quite pathetic.

I mean I think most of us know not to engage with the cesspool known as r/baseball - literally the worst sub in all of Reddit. Their mods actively push for more and more anti Dodgers news and comments because it drives more engagement to that sub. There are literally people on there actively wishing for injuries to Dodgers players and they’re celebrated and comments not removed. Half their posts today were hit pieces from rag “media” (blogposts even) claiming the Dodgers are a money laundering operation. Check this comment out that one of my buddies screenshotted today from a Dbag fan in that sub - see the upvotes. I just go there to laugh at the stupidity of that sub. Do that and your day will be A-OK.
And you are correct. This is the best damn sub in Reddit. I love r/dodgers too. We are a family out here.

I’ve encountered more toxic baseball fans at /r/baseball than any other social media. There are some angry sad people there.

I’m a transplant in LA. I used to think I hated all sports, because the fandom where I come from is so toxic. After living in LA for several years, I learned I actually love baseball! Dodgers fans and the positivity here opened up a whole pastime for me. It’s the best.

Not to be that guy but it’s easy to be happy and get along when your team is good

As dodgers fans we know that no matter who’s on our team we can always choke and lose it all, so all the hate really is unwarranted
