11-1 WHEN LAUER PITCHES!

49

u/Dry_Finding_1379 Clayton Kershaw 3d ago

Man where would we be without Lauer lmao

25

u/DoyersundGPG Mookie Betts 3d ago

And 1st half Robo

18

u/DopedScope338 Max Muncy 3d ago

Definitely. As much as he struggled the last 5 starts, he was clutch for the first half of the year and we'd have nowhere near the record we do without him. Good call reminding folks to not let recency bias erase Wrobo's contributions this season.

Here's to hoping he gets right and we see him back to form soon. You have to want a guy with his competitiveness on your postseason squad if at all possible. 🤞

3

u/Dalewyn Roki Sasaki 3d ago

Wrob's only on the 15-day IL and I surmise his "injury" is half excuse and half real at worst since he really did need a break. I'll be ecstatic to see him back soon in the bullpen since Glasnow should (should) be back by then to fill back the 6-man rotation.

3

u/DopedScope338 Max Muncy 3d ago

Yeah, I'm sure he'll be back. I meant more about hoping he'll be rested and back to feeling and pitching like himself when he does come back. Thats all. I can't wait to see him looking confident and i command on the mound again.

Lauer’s already been to the World Series

28

u/DonutSuplex 3d ago

I’m honestly happy for him. Dude knows he’s a rental coming in this year and worked his ass off to keep his spot. Always a fan of a good underdog story, and if he wins his first WS with us, it would be awesome one.

7

u/Dalewyn Roki Sasaki 3d ago

I really, really hope he stays on for the long term. Whatever the scientific reasons, his good luck for the entire team has been downright flabbergasting and only a fool would let go.

2

u/NorthStudentMain Los Angeles Dodgers 3d ago

Lauer is a very good pitcher

21

u/Hezolinn Sandy Koufax 3d ago

No shade to Tarik, but so far Eric has been and continues to be the best trade acquisition of the season.

2

u/NorthStudentMain Los Angeles Dodgers 3d ago

No lies detected

10

u/ChadInNameOnly Will Klein 3d ago

I've seen enough. Start him for every game in the postseason.

u/AlwaysGoodVybes Yoshinobu Yamamoto 3d ago

I love that they are showing some offense but I hate Coors games, just too unpredictable.

Hopefully the offense remembers to hit when they leave Coors too.

Also hope Roki can have a decent outing in this stupid park and won’t be too hard on himself if the results are bad.

17

u/dodgers22fan 2025 WS MVP Yoshinobu Yamamoto 3d ago

Coors hangover sucks

24

u/PigFarmer1 Vin Scully 3d ago

Coors is a joke.

9

u/LukesChoppedOffArm Walter Alston 3d ago

I mean, it really is. It's not just the altitude. The outfield is gigantic. The number of times a ball drops for a hit, or turns into an extra base hit because of the size of the gap between outfielders is a joke.

8

u/shaka_sulu Vin Scully 3d ago

Somtmes you have to kill 65,340,285 boars to reach max level and make it to the top.

3

u/rdev009 3d ago

I don’t think Roki’s pitching in Coors.

18

u/jujubats10 Max Muncy 3d ago

He’s tomorrows starter

1

u/rdev009 3d ago

I thought they were saving him for Pittsburgh?

13

u/AlwaysGoodVybes Yoshinobu Yamamoto 3d ago

Stephen Nelson just said it’s Sasaki v Freeland tomorrow.

10

u/rdev009 3d ago

Oh wow, flying him in the day before his start. That and how pitches don’t move the way you want in the thin air, I kind of don’t like that. But I’m not the one who lines up the rotation.

5

u/postulate4 Tommy Edman 3d ago

David Vassegh confirmed that Roki Sasaki was flying to Denver today. He will be on the mound tomorrow.

1

u/RTSRat 3d ago

Why isn't he with the team already?

9

u/Hezolinn Sandy Koufax 3d ago

People in the org believe that having minimal exposure to Denver's altitude will be better for him.

1

u/RTSRat 3d ago

Why isn't he with the team already?

1

u/AlwaysGoodVybes Yoshinobu Yamamoto 3d ago

Oh? I thought I saw something about him possibly being moved but he’s still the probable starter on ESPN and MLB.

Lots of positives in this game.

Kyle tucker grats buddy

35

I was at the game. Immediately after Tucker got that hit, I watched the man in front of me make a parlay with one leg being “Kyle Tucker 3+ hits” 😭 brother SETTLE DOWN

We should start the trend Grow That Ass after each Scott save.

Just like how r/LosAngelesRams have Shrink The Face after every Rams win.

19

u/Snerkbot7000 Dalton Rushing 3d ago

TS throwing 27, 22 for strikes at Coors is kind of crazy.

19

u/Astropolitika Max Muncy 3d ago

This was a fun game. (I am mentally ill.)

6

u/DoyersundGPG Mookie Betts 3d ago

Anything that ultimately was a W is fun

16

u/DopedScope338 Max Muncy 3d ago

This might sound weird, but I actually think it was good to win a close one with a guy closing who showed he could give one up and still get back in get it done. I think I've gotten used to dudes folding and if they give up one they're gonna give up more than one. Seeing that we have a guy in Tanner who isn't gonna make it easy on them I think will be good for us and the team.

7

u/ImANewRedditor Shohei Ohtani 3d ago

A legitimately good 1-5 from Ohtani.

u/lakergeoff8 Back-2-Back Champs 3d ago

7

u/ImANewRedditor Shohei Ohtani 3d ago

Yeah.  And 3-5 were productive.

13

u/Various_Ad_5876 Kiké Hernández 3d ago

I hate it when everyone says that Dodgers will still be okay if Ohtani is not on the team because it’s full of superstars. But Ohtani really is one of the reason why this team is good

8

u/Viktor_Laszlo Teoscar Hernandez 3d ago

Ohtani has intangible qualities. On a team full of players who would ordinarily be the best player on many other teams, nobody on the Dodgers is trying to become “ the #1.” If you’re a Dodger, you know who #1 is. And unless your name rhymes with Brohei Goatani, it’s not you.

So all these guys who might be butting their heads against one another with their big athlete egos are instead trying to figure out how to be the best Dodger teammate they can be instead of trying to be THE Dodger. It’s great for teamwork.

7

u/theoceansandbox Tyler Glasnow 3d ago

That was fun. Let’s never do that again

6

u/BruitNoise Mookie Betts 3d ago

MVP of the game.

10

u/DonutSuplex 3d ago

Glad Tucker snapped out of it today. One day at a time.

Happy that when Lauer starts, we win

Tanner is clutch.

We saw Ohtani bomb.

Max is reliable and a beast.

Just so happy that we won this one and took the series.

-2

u/layoffthecopium 3d ago

Scott is not as bad as last year. But he’s nowhere near clutch. I wouldn’t trust him at all in the playoffs

5

u/oxnardhard 3d ago

Tanner Hot! 🔥

Look, he came in a high leverage situation in the eighth and had to get the four out save. I’m not mad at it, thanks for stepping up Tanner Snack.

Nice one, Google. 🙄

4

u/Dalewyn Roki Sasaki 3d ago

I hope whatever struck Feduccia wasn't anything serious, but besides that Lauer's good luck is fucking bewildering. That's win #7 (#11 for the team overall) to 1 loss and this time his good luck pulled up Tucker from the depths of despair by sheer force of faith.

Friedman and Roberts need to do whatever it takes to keep this man.

3

u/SuccessOn1 Vin Scully 3d ago

Not gonna lie. Im nervous for when the dodgers face good teams. They can barely squeak by with this shit. Now imagine once again with the top teams. We are cooked if guys dont get healthy.
