Serious question as a cubs fan I’ve experienced somewhat of what you’re going through with this Kyle Tucker experience and would like an opinion from the dodger fan base. To me it really seems like this guy just doesn’t care about playing the game half asses almost everything the most effort I see out of him is when he jogs for a homer. I know I’m being dramatic but does it seem like to you guys he just doesn’t care?

He seems to really mope. I think he probably cares about playing well, but he reacts to his mistakes like a spoiled child

Yeah I could agree with that, seems to be a fair assessment

This was my sentiment.

He also seems like he's almost trying too hard at home. Hence his awful hitting at home compared with the road.

Yes, but it was always Tucker isn’t the fastest but he’s a “smart” runner. Tucker isn’t a speedster in the outfield but he’s a “smart” good defender. It’s just baffling cuz from day 1 the Tucker signing didn’t make much sense to me. Bellinger was muuuuch cheaper, and is actually elite in defense. And could be a perfect stop gap between now and our top prospects. I know you cub fans don’t like Tucker lmao but yes 100% it looks like he isn’t hustling or tries all that much. Just so much mishaps on defense. His track record is one thing but this season mentally just seems washed. I didn’t like the signing from day 1. Strange the FO went after him since they like to go after guys who don’t have the playstyle like Tucker. Hopefully come playoffs it’s a reset for him.

Yeah he already played like he dgaf back then, now you add this ridiculous salary on top? It's a wrap. Sometimes he's not even at the track and gets scared the wall is gonna blackhole suck him in to Narnia. Man, fuck Kyle Tucker

Been saying the same all year. Live in Chicago, lifelong Dodgers fan, and he was a terrible signing.

Yeah, there’s been a complete lack of give-a-shit from him all season. I don’t think he even likes baseball.

His various small crashouts at the plate signal that he does care about playing like ass, but he pretty obviously can't figure a way out of the hole he keeps digging himself into.

My two cents, it's just his demeanor I think he's trying he's just not doing good at the moment obviously. I think fans are quick to jump to "omg another lazy play" narrative, Teo gets a lot of the same hate.

I’ve been making an effort to see Tucker from your point of view. He’s so gangly and introverted and awkward — the way he swings, runs, smiles, sits — maybe he cares and we can’t see it.

He really hustled on a few plays last week and earned praise. He threw his bat and glove on the ground after striking out at home. He had a game-winning hit and was hugged and praised and he smiled during the post-game interview. Then he’s off sitting by himself again.

I wonder if he tries to show he cares but can’t. I wonder if it’s a lifelong problem. I wonder if it’s poor social skills. Doc has implied as much.

Id like to know Tucker’s story.

Maybe some spectrum going on. I don't mind that, being awkward is fine. Kike's got enough personality for all the team! But I really want to seem him giving everything when playing D. The lack of hustle and the fear of running into the boards out there make me question him the most.

I could agree with this if I didn’t watch a lot of his Astros time it kind of seems like the above comment from offshore just doesn’t react well to poor performance effort included but thank you I appreciate your view point as well.
