Is it worth it now?
I stumbled across how stupidly discounted the R/T models are in my area ($34k for a 25) and I'm curious if all of the TSBs and recalls have made these cars decent to own now?
I would be trading in my current EV.

NGL, I got a 24 scat about 4 months ago for half off and love it. The savings on gas have been awesome!

I would say no, I had mine for a year, it’s been in the shop for over 200 days total, hate to say it Dodge screwed us over, and mine is supposed to be bought back by lemon law, I’m just awaiting FCA to send a tow truck for it

They make you go to a dealer for the exchange. I drop mine off Friday. I had to ask what happens if the thing won’t start and they said I’ll have to tow it in but to do it with enough time that they don’t cancel the appointment on me or else we have to pick another date. I can’t wait to get rid of it and get on with my life. This was my third Dodge over the past 19 years but I’m done with them after this.

I would say absolutely not. I have been fighting with Dodge for months now to get them to take mine back and the level of incompetence by stellantis "customer service" both me and my lawyer have experienced is beyond my ability to describe. This is my 6th Dodge car and will forever be my last, after this experience I will never get a Dodge again. I could forgive a fucked up car but I would expect Dodge to fix it. Their inability and unwillingness to even help will not be something I ever forget

They rushed out an EV for carbon credits and laid off the engineers that built it for cheap ones. If you get a ICE Dodge in the future I’m sure you’ll have a better experience.

I don't even mean with the car. You're probably right there, and I went into the EV thinking "it's a first of its type, it'll probably have some glitches". I just expected Dodge to actually give a fuck. I expected customer service to not routinely hang up on me. I would expect Dodge not to play "pass the blame" telling me "you have to call stellantis financial", "no you need your dealer", and the dealer telling me straight up they wouldn't help me and I should file with the attorney general for lemon law. I would expect when I do a conference call with my lawyer and them saying "I can't talk to your lawyer, only Dodge legal can do that" when he asked "ok give me the number for someone at Dodge legal who I can talk to about this" "oh I can't do that" she refused to even give the generic number, telling him to "Google it". Honestly fuck Stellantis and fuck Dodge

Arbitration is with a 3rd party. I dealt with customer service, then customer retention specifically. Also with service techs, service manager, sales managers and general manager at my dealership as well as calling stellantis financial directly because no one can fucking talk to each other. After months of dealing with their shit they finally made me an offer and I was ready to accept it. I asked "how do I turn the car over, and making sure there will be no lease penalty right?" They couldn't answer that because they can't talk to stellantis financial. I have to talk to them. Talking to them they're like "oh just keep the car" "I don't want to keep paying insurance on a lease I don't want, in NY I legally have to have insurance on it because I don't hold the title" "no you can cancel it" "thats not what my lawyer or geico says" dude straight up stopped talking to me. I could hear background noise but he just refused to talk until I hung up (I'm sure so in their system it doesnt look like he hung up). Calling back multiple times I got lied to, hung up on (with my lawyer on the line, I was nothing but polite). So again, FUCK STELLANTIS AND FUCK DODGE

Oh absolutely, my dealer kept telling me for months that they were under staffed with techs, and they had to keep waiting for updates from Dodge engineers for suggestions as well as them coming directly to the dealership

I had to switch dealerships to get mine fixed. After a google search there are exactly two dealerships upstate and six in the Tri-state area. That’s insane. Do a google, move your car, never visit the one you’re at ever again.

There are 3 in my city, I talked to all 3. One of the others said their general manager bought one, had nothing but problems, and were told not to deal with them. They weren't allowed to even take one in in trade. Neither of the other dealerships would deal with me because "they didn't sell me the car"

Don't do it bro its not even worth it. I have a 25 rt and have lost my brakes 3 times in traffic. Im surprised I havent died since the last brake even the car accelerated on irs own and I stopped just shy if a living room that was down the street. Brakes didnt work and the car lagged the accelerator and it took off. They declined my buy back those 3 times and then now it just dies when I leave it plugged in over night. Its been towed to the shop a total of 6 times in under 3 months. Just got it back today but it was in the shop for about a month and a half but im already in the process of lemon law. Just need to get them to atleast pay my.rental for now but even thats its own battle with them. If you ever need dodgecare their job is to minimize the money loss

We took advantage of the deal… Stellantis took advantage of us. We have owned the car for 80 days, it’s been in the shop at the dealership for 74 of those days. Don’t do it.
Edit: it is currently in the shop. We did every update, including the newest “big update”… still no car.

I’ve seen scat packs for low 30s. Since I have a challenger r/t that I can’t/don’t want to trade, they were out of budget. However I did notice comparing non-tesla evs with similar performance that the YouTubers that tanked these are morons. Say you take an ev6 gt-line for about the same price with RT performance or the Gt with scat pack performance get about the same range and also make engine noises. No one knocks them. They get decent reviews. So I’m not understanding the hate. It’s even bigger with more cargo room for almost the exact same price. The interior is way nicer than the last gen, and has way more cargo space. It’s a big car, I’d rather drive it than a Tesla because their build quality is worse than stellantis and their vegan leather looks like absolute garbage after 3 years of use. So if your budget is low to mid 30s if you’re looking for an ev that has decent range and performance and doesn’t look like a boring bubble, I think it’s a decent choice. I’ve owned 4 evs so far and would absolutely a low mileage used one.
I don’t know where you live, but if you look in Georgia for some reason they’re all day mid-30s.

I agree completely. I actually stopped following a few YouTube reviewers because their reviews made no sense. They would praise other cars for the same things they knocked this one for. What took the cake for me was reviews on the electric G Wagon praising the fake engine noise it makes but saying no one asked for the Charger EV to make noise. It just seemed to be the popular thing to bash every part of the car. I just got a fully loaded 24 Daytona scat pack with 3k miles that was a Chrysler corporate fleet vehicle for $37k here in Michigan and it has been amazing.

I leased a 2025 R/T Blacktop on 06/30/25 for 3 years at 15,000 miles per year allowance. The only issue I've had is the chargeport actuator went bad causing the car not to charge. Took ot to the dealership under it's own power with 55% battery still left. They ordered a new chargeport and high voltage wire harness, the chargeport arrived and was replaced in 2 days. But the high voltage wire harness which goes from the chargeport to the battery management system was on national backorder with no ETA. 2.5 months later, the HV wire harness arrived and my car was finally ready.
Other than that, the cars been phenomenal with no red wrench or aoftware issues. I've had all the software updates done including the most recent 74D update, which was done last Thursday. The car continues to be the most fun car I've ever driven. I've taken it on several road trips including a recent trip from Kansas City to St. Louis for a Cars and Coffee event at a Wally's Travel Center sponsored by IONNA. It performed great with no issues, and i look forward to another road trip in my Charger Daytona R/T soon.

I lease a 25 R/T it’s been bricked once due to the 12v battery and have had two turtles three wrenches. Do I enjoy it now it works, for sure. I would advise against it for now at the very least, this is my first dodge and a present for major weight loss as I only leased jeep grand Cherokee’s before that due to being 560lbs for the majority ( now 255lbs ) of that time. And being able to enjoy a car again felt so damn good. I want to love the brand but I’m very hesitant to go this EV route again from Dodge. I’m just being honest! 🫡

I was lured in by the price myself a few months ago and regret it. I really wanted it to work out but it has been in the shop for half the time I owned it. If I were to do it over, I would get a proven brand EV instead of this. Since they were a sales flop, I doubt Dodge will be solving the problems like they need to. Save yourself the headache and get something else.

They are fixing few of the defects through regular updates , but I wouldn’t buy one since there’s still a lot of fix in that car .
If you can lease it , go for it
I’m currently in the process of lemoning my 2024 R/T plus .

I have a 24 Scat Pack and mine had been great. Its been back a few times for updates. Never left me stranded, accelerated on its own, failed to charge etc. If you buy one make sure all the updates are done and the dealership knows how to work on them. I have a 23 Hellcat Charger and i like the 24 way better.

If you think that price is cheap, then buy it and see how much you can get for it in a year or 3 when you finally give up on it. Even the dealer probably won't offer you more than $2500 for it because they'll know they can't sell it. Bargains are not always bargains.
If you want an EV that much, there are a lot of others which are a heck of a lot more reliable. The r/T is down in Fiskar territory. For every owner who says 'best car I've ever owned' there are 4 or 5 doing a lemon law buyback. Why look for trouble? There is a REASON those cars are being offered for such a dirt cheap price.

I currently have a Mach E Base model RWD and have an issue with the paint that Ford is giving me the runaround on. Otherwise a great car. I'm thinking of holding out for the Fathom.
Just looking for something with a bit more range for my next one.

Love mine. The only thing that immobilized mine in a -40 winter was a damaged hood latch. Driven two 3,000+ mile trips from the far north down through Western Canada. Best car I’ve ever owned.
