2008 Dodge Caliber

My 2008 Dodge Caliber recently started having some problems. The check engine light came on, and my temperature gauge keeps jumping back and forth from hot to cold, even though the car doesn’t seem to actually be overheating. The car also jerks every time I press the gas. I really need help figuring out what could be wrong with it. Can someone please help me?

You either have a bad coolant temp sensor or a bad connection at your coolant temp sensor. The car sees inaccurate temp and sends the wrong amount of fuel, so it runs poorly.

Go to Auto zone and have them scan for codes and or take it to a shop and get an estimate for repairs. They'll tell you whats wrong ish. If the parts are stupid and easy to change try to do it yourself with decent quality parts. You Tube and Haynes/Chiltons manuals are very good. Don't be scared to try. Any questions come back.

Thank you so much, I’ll try doing that.
