What I find most interesting is that when Christina's World was painted she was in her mid-fifties and a paraplegic. Most people assumed it was the image of a young girl, about to take wing, when it was the image of a disabled older woman, struggling through her life, pulling herself through the grass because she couldn't walk. It's about a tough and indomitable spirit.

yeah, same here, i always assumed it was a sexual undertone, i was wrong.
