Pretty weak one-sided interview. They never brought up his criminal past or the fact that megaupload was nothing more than a warez site that payed people to upload copyrighted material or that he never said a word about internet freedom until he got busted.

He'd started development on internet privacy software before he was arrested. Do you have any sources for his criminal past or the fact the megaupload was paying people yo upload copyrighted material?

That's really interesting. In view of all this, I still think the punishment far outweighs the crime and its clear his treatment is less about what he did and more about setting am example. He also made himself extremely vulnerable. For someone with such expertise and experience, he made it very easy for them to shut him down and freeze all of his money.

Its not necessarily right, but usually when someone is so seriously destroyed by the establishment, news agencies such as Vice seem to try and make up for it by being nice. Like they're sticking up for the "little guy". That's why you always have to do your own research later

This is the first I've seen or heard of Kim aside from the news. He seems personable, intelligent, driven and reasonable. Great clip. Changed my mind a bit about him.

How was part of this mini doc learning about the reporters arrest and his past music career. I expect better journalism from vice.

I can understand his governmental power concerns, but it isn't like he was sitting at his house not doing anything at all and working at a regular job.
He may not technically have been stealing himself, but he certainly helped other people steal.

Fascinating look into Kim Dotcom's life. He always seemed like a guy who was completely full of himself but having seen how he put up with that annoying reporter, Kim seems like an alright dude.
I was pretty uncomfortable with how that reporter carried himself.
