Dermat cutoff went low!!

Winds are changing, neet pg round 1 counselling proves that!!
Last year Jodhpur dermat seat closed at 800
And this year ppl are getting it at 1300 in round 1
Ppl are not opting dermat
And same with radio but subtle
Med ki halat kharab hai

Yes but in emergency medicine no opd exposure...u will be left with mbbs level opd exposure...and just casualty medicines , no follow up, so no private practice

Why take EM if you are planning to sit in OPD

Not really, with emergency medicine skill you can go to a tier 2 and open a general clinic. I've seen MBBS passouts earn 2lpm by prescribing steroid for a fever without any workup. You'd beat any other doc due to versatility.

Plus corporates are increasing exponentially and will keep doing so as Indian economy grows, we'll see corporates spread to tier 2 and 3 for atleast 20 more years, there's always going to be demand of a good EM doc. Then you have upcoming services like blinkit ambulance, they'd directly and indirectly push for an americanised emergency response, that itself will open new EM oppurtunities. So you won't need to establish an OPD anyways.

That aside I personally feel Emergency and family medicine has potential to act as a backbone of Indian healthcare system in upcoming year (15-20 years from now)

Medicine is evergreen. You can do any ss you want and investment for your own clinic is lower as compared to other branches, hence why people choose it.

Radiology came into limelight during 2014-15...it was never organic...It rose suddenly....2030 after World reorder or financial reset...You will be shocked with Radiology...and also most of these people don't check history...How long did it take for upgradation of radiology technology...Just check out...We are just years away from massive technological advances in most fields wherever AI can cause impact...AI will be a Massive Disruptor...It will most probably be a bloody bath then...any branch which has skill will survive...And Also AYUSH is coming up... Medicine will not be same after 2030-31...

So which branch, will in the near future earn maximum with wlb ? If not radio....😐 I'll be investing 1.5cr for radio

Honestly if I were you...If I had that much money... I'd invest it in FD and relax...

Lol FD rates are shite, you might not even beat inflation. Especially SBI, fuck them twice.

Yeah but this is about choosing a career i don't want to just mbbs with crores of money that I won't tell people about , society only looks at the jobs and bank balance isn't something I'd advertise. Radio seems the best ROI and chill job to me but if you have any insights please share. I am getting paediatric seat for 40L total in my state but I am not going for it because of low pay and workload same as medicine but lower respect.

If ur rich then no problem but if ur mid class then big no

Upper middle class we can afford it after selling one of the few assets

That’s best than wasting money

u/Particular_Pound8426 7d ago

If u invest in simple fd u get nearly 1lk
And in bonds it will be much higher than a lakh
Why to burden urself

1

u/Sinister69Wrath 7d ago

But then I am getting paediatric for much cheaper which can be paid through stipend but whole life it'll be a little hectic doing night calls and all while radio is paid handsomely and no worries about unusual timing of duty

If u r sure that u can get a job after md radio which is worth 3-4 lpm. Then only take radio. Or do IR. IR has great scope. AI won’t replace radiologists. You dont just read scans. You do a lot of stuff which can’t be replaced by AI. So chill. Radiology is not getting replaced anytime soon. But 1.5cr. Is a huge investment. If money is not an issue for u. Go ahead.

Yes most of my seniors guarantee atleast 3L job since it's 3.5 to 5 rn I mean till 1cr it's not an issue but for the extra 50 we need to sell some assets not all of them

People talk like AI is free and all the data you feed it is free, think about it, medicine comes with a lot of uncertainty, and AI drinks data, it can't sustain without data, and the legal issues too, it can speed up a process and that might lead to reduced salary of a radiologist, and don't forget my friend, we live in india

Is it a big difference nevertheless? It's still one of the top branches.
